Now this is dependent on whether or not RT Andrew Nelson [6-5, 308] decides to come back for the 2017 season coming off his ACL injury.
OFFENSIVE LINE
LT-- Will Fries [6-6, 305]
LG-- Ryan Bates [6-4, 304]
C-- Michal Menet [6-4, 302]
RG-- Connor McGovern [6-5, 310]
RT-- Brendan Mahon [6-4, 320]
Now if Nelson does decide to return for the 2017 season, he would most likely start at the RT position and Mahon would start at the LT spot with Fries the first OT off the bench. Sources close to the team have indicated to me that the above listed starting offensive line for the 2017 season might be a high probability. We'll just have to wait and see what happens with Nelson.
Also, one additional note. After having a series of conversations with two NFL scouts I know with the Atlanta Falcons and Minnesota Vikings, they both told me the following evaluation. Both scouts think that there are four offensive linemen that have started this season on Penn State's offensive line that have real potential to end up playing in the NFL if they stay healthy.
Those offensive linemen are: RT Andrew Nelson, LT Brendan Mahon, LG Ryan Bates and RG Connor McGovern. One scout told me that if Mahon gets healthy and keeps improving he could end up being a top 5 OT for the 2018 NFL draft.
