If we lose another game we likely miss the playoff.

A&M still has to play Texas and SC tonight
ND could lose to USC
Indiana will probably lose to OSU. Could they also lose to Michigan?

But who knows. I agree with your point that 10-2 isn't guaranteed.

Thats why I said baring upsets. If A&M wins the games they're supposed to and loses to Texas they'll be 10-2 with a better resume than ours. The LSU win is be better than any of ours (i know usc beat lsu). The Texas loss would comparable to the OSU loss, and the ND loss is better than any potential second loss on our schedule. Texas actually has the weakest hypothetical 10-2 record if they drop the game vs a&m.

Clemson and Pitt getting trucked and South Carolina up 10 on the Aggies in 3rd qtr. Kentucky giving Tennessee all they can handle but the Vols will probably win it.
These night games are going great for us. Setting up 3 losses for close comp with good wins like AM (they play UT last game) and 2 losses for teams that might leap us if they end up with 1 loss and we drop another.

We only lose 1 and we’re a lock. I’m worried about a 10-2 scenario with several “lesser” ranked teams with 1 loss.

Why are we asking stupid questions? If winning head to head and winning a conference don't matter, then why bother?
Because it's not all that mattered
The argument was always Penn State or Washington
Ohio State had a single loss to a top 5 team on the road--we were never getting in over them--any sane person who that
We weren't comparable but we were comparable to Washington and that was the mistake made
BUT again you wanted an 11-2 Penn State in a 4 team playoff but now think at 10-2 they'd be out of a 12--it doesn't make sense

But you're also then worrying we choke and no one else does--it's simply not realistic
We've also been very good for 2.5 years beating teams we should

So you are betting the season on someone else? LMFAO................

Literally the only teams still even fighting for a playoff spot

ACC: Miami, Clemson (for now) and SMU
Big XII: officially a one bid league
Big Ten: Oregon, Ohio State, Penn State and Indiana
Independent: ND
SEC: A&M (on life support), Georgia, Texas, Tennessee and the winner of the LSU/Bama elimination game
AQ team

Why are people worried--make it make sense.

Washington had the number one pass defense in America. Against our d2 receivers next week.

Brain dead stuff by Clemson. Down by 19 with 6 to go. They score a TD - and go for 1???!!!. You now need 2 TDs rather than 1 TD with 2 pt conv and a FG

Ole Miss is still fighting for a spot. They likely won’t be after they play Georgia, but if they win out they’re in.

Good addition to the list--but if they beat Georgia then the SEC does just cannibalize itself so that's okay

Clemson and A&M lost today to unranked teams--including Clemson at home
The A&M loss also really, really hurts ND's resume--also hurts them that Navy is currently losing to Rice of all teams
Everyone feeling better now or do we still somehow think a 10-2 Penn State would be left out???

We think you are disturbed. On every thread after a loss, and you vanish after every win.

When have I ever vanished after a win--I usually start a thread about night games and talk about how everyone flipped out over a game that wasn't as close as the score. I love when you just make up stuff. Tell Nate that one lol

I don’t think I’ve seen it mentioned but counting just 1 ACC or 1 B12 team isn’t a lock. If Miami or BYU is undefeated but lose their conference championship games that would really hurt, same way it hurts bubble teams in the basketball tourney when crappy conferences have upsets in their championship game. I think that would be the buggest threat to a 2 loss PSU team. It would be great if Miami or BYU get losses before then.

The one issue is upsets in conference championship games. If BYU wins out and loses in the CCG, they’ll still get in along with the Big 12 champ. Same goes with Miami(FL) and the ACC.

But today was very good for teams on the cusp (like PSU at 10-2 would be)

Miami would get an at large
BYU won't--I don't think people understand how lowly the Big XII is looked at right now. Their only quality win was K-State who got beat by a bad Houston team and SMU--so maybe if SMU runs the table they could get in with a loss to Iowa State, Colorado or K-State in the CCG but that's highly unlikely.
After today, even with another loss, we have a great shot of being ahead of an 11-1 ND as well

At 10-2 being ahead of 11-1 ND. I don’t like being rude but, get your head checked.
