QB - B +. Gritty performance for the most part by Sean. Only one turnover due to a missed block and a blindside hit. Made some good throws but also tended to lock in on KJ. Given the WR situation, this is understandable. Ran very well, despite appearing to be less than 100%.
OL - A. Steady improvement from this unit over the season. Provided good protection most of the time and opened holes for the backs. Most of all, they showed up late on the 9 minute drive that salted the game away.
TE - B+. Catches somewhat limited due to the need for blocking and IU coverages converging on Friermuth. Bowers has emerged as a good red zone option.
RB - B+. Journey seems to be the best all around and showed his top end speed on the TD run. Ford might have the highest ceiling. Slade effective as a receiver. Cain remains MIA due to injury.
WR - C-. This would be a solid “ D “ if not for KJ, who had to leave in the first half. Inability to separate, presnap confusion and what appears to be a very limited number of play options with this group recall the PSU receivers of 2003 - 2004. All I can say is “ ugh “ and hope for next season.
Overall Offensive Grade - B+.
