They'll be very revealing as to our playoff situation going forward. I'm thinking whatever our rank -- I'm guessing in the range of 7-9 -- that will be the lowest we'll be looking at the rest of the year...IF...big if...we win out. If we don't win out, we're likely not gonna make the cut without serious help. I just don't think 10-2 works for us this year given how everything is coming together with a month or so to go.

If we're in the 7-9 range then we can lose another game. If we're outside of that we'd need help. You keep saying this but have yet to explain why we're out. How everything is coming together is great for us. Clemson A&M Iowa State and K-State all lost games they shouldn't have last week. It's going amazingly well.
Other than beating Ohio State...nothing really needs to change for us. Would be nice if ND lost again but...their schedule makes ours look elite.

I'm prepared for a much lower ranking than the writers and coaches polls. We shall see... We haven't had any bad losses, were in position to beat OSU but this team does not pass the eye test based on what I see and Franklin now has the reputation of not being a big game coach which might work against him as the committee attempts to have the best 12 and great match ups.

But Lando says we're a lock at 10-2

Much lower? Define much lower?
Being in position to beat Ohio State would likely be viewed as a positive not a negative. Just a weird negative spin based on your frustration.

12? Name your 11 ahead of us
We're likely 7-9 so a spot lower isn't meaningful but 12 doesn't make sense unless you think Ohio State is 7
Scoobs ... people have given you realistic teams and scenarios ... you just say "nuh uh," and everyone ignores and/or mocks you because you can't support anything you say. You really want to waste your time going through that again?

I only hope we don't need to find out which of us is right, Lando, especially since my record of being right is perfect when opposing yours,

No one has--people have there's ridiculous scenarios in which everyone gets in but us because they want to believe the world is out to get us. We've had arguments that Wazzu is getting in at 11-1 over us at 10-2 along with 9-3 teams because people are desperate because they can't make it work otherwise.
I love the idea that people ignore/mock me. Obsession is different than that.

You haven't been right yet but okay

Lando, the record going back years is clear. I have demolished you in logical argumentation. I have marshalled facts and evidence that has left you spluttering and flailing. Everyone knows that. Even you know that. Hopefully we don't have to add this one to the list. 10-2 isn't gonna cut it. Fortunately, it's an academic dispute because we will win out.

What are you talking about? For example, you thought you were right when you claimed the Big Ten admitted they were wrong on the offside only to see how they actually handle something when they're wrong. You lost--per usual.

At 10-2, we're in, i agree we likely don't find out but you're going to be very confused if it happens then you'll again claim you never said that.

Yes, they have ... you just take reasonable suggestions and throw them away without any justification as to why you're correct or why anyone else is wrong ... because ... again ... you can't. You rely on the childish "you don't know football" or "you don't follow other teams," like you're an ignorant idiot on the playground.

I agree with you. Several are ignoring upcoming head to heads that will necessarily knock some of our closest competitors out before the conference championships even if we go 10-2 (e.g. A&M will lose to Texas and get their 3rd loss)

Childish or factual?

Thank you! Honestly, people are fixated on the word "deserve" and our "weak schedule" while pretending everyone else is playing Georgia weekly and haven't lost to bad teams. People don't understand how bad the NIU loss is for ND as an example--ND desperately needs A&M and Louisville to win out at this point.

You know very well what I'm talking about, Lando. You have been utterly destroyed in intellectual combat with me...a tiny field mouse shivering in terror as the hawk descends...covering your frantic tracks with blather. Must we go on?

Ya there are going to be lots of three loss teams based on matchups. While I don’t think Penn state will lose anymore they most likely will get in at 10-2

Oregon 13-0
Georgia 12-1
SMU 12-1
Iowa St 12-1
Boise St. 12-1
BYU 12-1 (loses Big 12 CCG)
Texas 11-2 (loses SEC CCG)
Miami 12-1 (loses ACC CCG)
OSU 11-2 (loses Big Ten CCG)
Notre Dame 11-1
Indiana 11-1
Alabama 10-2
Tennessee 10-2

PSU - 14th

In that scenario, PSU has no wins against top 25 teams and a bad loss against some schmoe squad we play in the next 4 weeks. Indiana has no quality wins, either, but only a competitive loss against OSU, so they will obviously make it over us after we drop precipitously following our embarrassing loss. Bama has a win over the #2 team and 2 other likely top 25 squads in LSU and Mizzou. Tenn has a win over Bama. BYU is undefeated headed into the CCG.

The analytics don't like us. They'll REALLY not like us if we lose, again, and to a middling team like Wash or Minny. The Big 18 turning into a blob of jelly after this year's top 4 has hurt us.

I don't even think Indiana or Notre Dame are debates. Same with BYU. If it play out like this we're likely 10--maybe 11.
We'll see tonight--if we're ahead of Indiana and Tennessee we're a lock using your breakdown
This also has SMU and Iowa State winning out which...is a choice....and not a likely one. Check their odds to win their conferences
What analytics dislike us?

That was an extremely well thought out rebuttal. You're such a waste.

Extremely childish. Completely wrong.
You mean like when you said the Big Ten admitted they were wrong--which never happened in their statement--then they literally released a statement saying they were wrong in the Nebraska/Ohio State game like I said they would have if they were wrong with the onside kick

Or how I said the PR team screwed up the press conference only for Franklin to apologize for how he handled it yet I'm still wrong?

You can't win an argument---it's why you're frustrated with me. Same with Jerry. You both just don't have the intelligence to debate me. It's okay. I've accept it.

You mean as opposed to your "I'm going to list teams that I know won't be higher but do it anyway"
In 6 minutes we'll see how wrong you are--or if Penn State is 10 or lower I'll be wrong. They just won't be and I think you know that

There ya go, turdblossom. That sums you up, perfectly. You fall on your face every single time.
You and your concern over how my phone autocorrects things and my complete indifference towards changing things--whatever distracts from you being wrong I guess

As opposed to me compiling a perfectly possible outcome of events, listing out the subsequent records of each, and slotting them ... and explaining why some of those teams would be looked at more favorably than us, and why we won't be looked at favorably.

Compare to Lando saying "nuh uh."

Yeah ... your absolute nothingness compared to my logical, supported argument.

Yet again.

It perfectly encapsulates you ... false claims plus ridiculous claims of superiority ... and then you show yourself to be an absolute doofus in the process.

It's not a "perfectly possible outcome of events" then you follow it up by saying we're 14th behind 1 loss teams outside the Power 2 and both SEC 2 loss teams. It's your desperate attempt to slot them to make it work for you.

Why is Indiana ahead of us? This " Indiana has no quality wins, either, but only a competitive loss against OSU, so they will obviously make it over us after we drop precipitously following our embarrassing loss" isn't reasonable with their SOS around 100

BYU has to win the Big XII to get in and I think you're fully aware of that but you needed them

ND won't have a ranked win (you have Texas beating A&M) and lost to NIU

You're grasping at straws because you know what's likely--and it's not that Penn State is out

Let's make an actual wager

If I'm wrong, Penn State goes 10-2 and is left out of the playoff I won't comment on Penn State for a full year--so I can only talk about other teams and I'll admit I'm wrong
If I'm right, you have to do the same

Deal?

Hey @LandoComando .. remember when you were telling everyone that ESPN'S FPI was everything ... and odds meant nothing (even though they were equally predictive) ... Right now, ND is #5 in FPI. PSU is #11. That's BEFORE ND tacks on another Top 25 win and PSU tacks on a bad loss in the scenario I provided. ND actually has a better reputation (and audience) than PSU ... explain to us how a 1 loss ND squad will lose out to a 2 loss PSU team in the scenario I provided.

Don't just be a pussboy, cop out, and say "we'll see" ... explain your logic. For once.

Click on Resume--why does no one know how to use this?
Penn State is 6
Notre Dame is 15

Oh--and ND won't have a ranked win. Army won't be ranked after they lose to them

Dumbass ... your stance is that there's NO WAY PSU misses out on the playoff if they're 10-2. I just provided you with a scenario where they would miss out on the playoff if they're 10-2. I didn't say they'd definitely miss out if they're 10-2. In fact, I've explicitly said otherwise. Once again, Lando is squirming. Trying to move goalposts.

Do you understand words at all?

I will make you a deal ... if what I laid out happens, record-wise (and with losses to teams, as indicated) and PSU makes the playoffs, I'll pay you $1,000,000. If my scenario plays out, but PSU doesn't make the playoff, you'll pay me $1,000,000. Deal?

Correct--there's no way--which includes your scenario. If that happens, Penn State is still in.
I don't believe you have that kind of money or I'd make the bet
