What 12 Teams are better in record and on field play than PSU this year?

As I said we are not that good of a team the ucla game showed me that very disappointed with that performance and 2 nd loss and we could be out

UCLA has improved a lot, beginning with the PSU game when they didn’t have their starting qb. Now that their starting qb is back, they’re a tough out; they won at Nebraska this past weekend. They also lost to Minnesota a few weeks ago on a last minute td.

1. Oregon
2. Ohio State
3. Georgia
4. Texas
5. Miami
6. Indiana
7. Tennessee
8. Boise State
9. Alabama
10. Notre Dame
11. SMU
12. BYU
13. Texas A&M
14. LSU

A Big 12 team, a Group of 5 team, and an ACC team are getting in whether they are "better" than PSU or not. And Notre Dame is in if they finish with 1 loss, and deservedly so. So that is 4 spots gone. Are there 8 other teams that will have better resumes than PSU? Probably. (Oregon, OSU, Georgia, Texas, Indiana, Tennessee, Alabama, SMU, Texas A&M, LSU....) Our best win is Illinois...
But Penn State didn't lose at home to Northern Illinois for example. Tell me who ND's "best win" this year is.

I have it as my top 5 all-time road wins for this program. We will need to agree to disagree here. Notre Dame needed two (2) fluke pick-6 TDs to get out of there with a win.

Two 99+yard Pick-6s - the 1st with only 3:39 remaining in the game after USC had taken an ND punt with 5:47 remaining, driven the length of the field and was getting ready to tie the game at 35-35.

But the difference is Penn State BEAT Bowling Green whereas ND LOST at home to Northern Illinois. ND has not beaten a team that is currently ranked in the Top 25 this year. Spare me the Louisville and Texas A & M BS.

Louisville and aTm are both unranked, 4-loss teams. ND has zero wins against teams currently within the CFP Rankings.

Outside of the inexplicable home loss to Northern Illinois, Notre Dame has looked very good the rest of the way. They look like they are well coached and improving. They have the recruitment to back it up. I wouldn't take them lightly.

I wouldn't take them lightly either but I do agree they haven't beat anyone. Just like Texas, Indiana, Miami, SMU, Clemson and Boise State truly haven't beat anyone--just like people argue we haven't beat anyone. The only teams that have really shown much this year, IMO, are Oregon, Ohio State and Georgia. Yes Georgia and Ohio State have 2 losses including Ohio State to an awful Michigan team so....

Basically the playoff could be unpredictable because who's legit...

Are people here pretending that PSU beat Southern Cal easier/more convincingly than Notre Dame did? Because I watched both games, and no...

I see your point, but I the schedule is set in advance, so how can you correlate how good your team is with who you played? One has to do entirely with you, and the other you have zero control over.

Huh? Nobody is contending that - they don't have to; PSU has the only win against a CFP Ranked Team, PSU played a stronger SOS by a significant margin, PSU's loss is to a currently top-10 ranked CFP team - ND's loss is to a 7-5 MAC team!

But acting like the ND-USC game was not extremely close and came down to the final minutes is just not reality.

Are people pretending that two pick-6 plays means that you won more convincingly? Looks more like someone threw a ball at your defenders at the worst possible time and place. Twice. Congratulations! Work on ending your losing streak to Northern Illinios.
