Is Urban Meyer, perhaps, the perfect representation of exactly what Ohio St is?

We know Meyer lied about his knowledge of the 2015 incident.

We know he non-apologized and tried to wordsmith that he cares about women including the wife and his girls he cheated on with coeds at UF while not saying anything specific he did wrong.

We know he hired a top recruiter AGAIN that he knew was a wife beater for at least the last decade or so and kept the abuse quiet along with the rest of the staff that text messages and testimony show that they knew of the spouse abuse as well.

We know the thuggery he left behind that decimated UF in the wake of championships.

We know Urban wins. He wins at a very high rate. Above all else, he can win games.

But we also know overlooked sexual abuse for decades in Ohio St Wrestling.

And we also know overlooked sexual abuse in Ohio St Diving.

And we know Ohio St football is currently being run by coaches who all knew of the spouse abuse according to messages and testimony but ALL said nothing in order to continue to win. Ohio St knows they knew and still wants them in charge of 120 or so young men and molding them not into men (real men don't stand alongside a guy that they know beats his wife) but into a team that can win more games.

And didn't the last championship Football coach at Ohio St get fired along with slap on the wrist sanctions? For tattoos while apparently it was OK for kids to just be given cars from local dealers?

And didn't Ohio St football lead a poor Mo Clarett to an upscale apartment and SUV and NCAA championship hero within a year only to lead him back to poor and an arrest with a vehicle full of weapons running scared for his life from actual Israeli mobster?

Urban Meyer wins games. He appears to be a horrible human being who has personally disrespected the women closest to him in his own life and apparently was good with hiring and working with a known wife beater for the better part of a decade. But did I mention he wins games? In light of Ohio States 3 concurrent abhorrent scandals where they covered for abuse in 3 separate sports, is Urban Meyer not actually the perfect representative of what Ohio St at its core, time and time again, has shown itself to be?

I say keep the coach. It is their true self. It is who Ohio St is. It dots the i.

Urban does win. I recall when I learned that Urban was not coming to PSU ro replace Joe Paterno. My thoughts were, there goes are chances of WINNING.
In hindsight x (100) we all have learned again "becareful what you ask for." Urb was a good fit for Ohio State, relationships people enter into mimic past relationships. The move from the Florida culture to the Ohio State culture was seamless for the old URBSTER. It was not a culture shock, because both cultures were a like. Urb coming to PENN STATE would have been a culture shock for him. Why? We do it the right way and I would not trade the moon for anything else.

You guys crack me up. Urban is not the best man on the planet and he certainly is no where near the worst. We all make mistakes and have transgressions, but thank goodness, we don't live life under the microscope.
That being said, I go 70% he does't survive this mess.

I appreciate your sentiment, but keep in mind that Joe supposedly handpicked Urban. Penn State may try to do things the right way, but would anyone be surprised if we (like most programs) had a few skeletons in the closet?

More likely he represents what college sports in general have become.

Ethics are the exception, not the rule.

Is Sham Wow guy not available?

Just read this from a guy at the Orlando Sentinel...apparently very familiar with Urban from his UF days.

The only thing missing from Urban’s statement and Zach Smith’s ESPN interview Friday night was the Ohio State marching band dotting the ‘i’ on lie.

It is a clear and undeniable pattern for both Ohio St and for Meyer. They are a great fit. Perhaps they should embrace the lack of any semblance of morals as they have winning football games. It will certainly make it easy for recruits to determine if that is a good fit. I say, be who you are. At this point, everyone already knows who they are. Why would they pretend to be something else?
