Yes. The worst-case scenario was Taylor landing all 3 of Forrest + Bassett + Ross, with Lockett + Robideau + Vega arriving this fall, and Merrill coming off shirt.

That cannot happen now, AND Taylor won't get Miller in 2027.

Brands getting Bassett + Miller, with Ludington + DeLuca arriving in the fall, and Ferrari coming off shirt, is good but not keeping up with Taylor -- let alone with Cael.

We'd still be in good shape, but splitting up the best of 2026 is to our advantage.

My younger son, who is now a Marine, went to Penn State summer wrestling camp and Ed Ruth and DT were coaches. He came home and said that DT will be an excellent coach one day because of his ability to explain step by step details and things to consider about every counter while teaching someone who was just a middle school wrestler. He said his patience and enthusiasm in seeing someone learn was really cool given who he was. I am happy to see him build his program with a foundational recruit. Wow, to have money in college, what a life…

They moved Iowa to #1 literally seconds after landing Bassett despite having no other recruits ahead of Okie State who had landed #3, #22 & #84. My guess is that they won't look at it for a while. Gotta give the Hawks a chance to land a couple of recruits in the 50s so they can present some kind of twisted logic to keep them there.

And now we'll be subjected to about five years of Spencer-like treatment of Bo while meanwhile PSU has had at least a half-dozen wrestlers with better careers in both their NCAA careers and internationally that have received less attention collectively than Spencer by himself. While we're on it, the #2 topic for Flo for the last couple years after Spencer has been the Ferraris, lolololol.

I can just see the future now. PJ Duke will be gunning for his 3rd NCAA title and a spot on the Olympic team, but this will be trumped by something like "Inside Bo's Three-A-Days," "Iowa's Next Coach - Bo or Spencer?" or "A look ahead at the potential Iowa 2031 lineup" with 5 recruits they haven't landed being projected to fill spots.
