Both Lee's won their first round matches tonight meaning they will place.

Matt Lee won 6-4 scoring the final 4 points of the match. He will wrestle Alec White (Sr and Purdue commit) tomorrow morning. Alec beat 2 time defending state champ (and Army commit) Colton Cummings tonight. I think Matt has a good chance of winning that match.

Joe won 22-5 in 3:03. All I can say is Joe looks to be on a completely different level than other tonight! I got to talk to Joe after his match and what a great young man!!!

If I'm not mistaken, it seems one of the FOX college sports channels shows the Indiana state championships every year....the past few years anyway. Haven't had a chance to look but when I do I'll let folks know in case they want to see Lee wrestle.


Edit**. I see Iowa states is on Fox college sports Atlantic tonight at 7:30. Maybe I'm mistaken. I could have sworn I watched the Indiana (among others) tourney on tape delay last few years.

Joe Lee (36-0) beat Andrew Negangard 14-2. Joe wrestles Kyle Hatch (51-0) of Warsaw in the semi's later today.

Alec White (Purdue commit) is a formidable opponent. Same HS as Chad Redd. With that said, White stalled half the match. The point Matt received was for White stalling.

Great showing by Matt for a Freshman....Bet he ends up winning 3 State Titles....No classes in that state either....Losing 3 to 1 by a Sr in the finals is one heck of a tourn....I am sure he will work really hard in the off season against elite comp....

Yes. Lost in the quarters to a very good Sr. who is in the finals...Placing as a Freshman is outstanding at 126 !!!!

Are you guessing or have you actually seen Matt wrestle? I'm still not sure how you can compare Matt to the other boys. I know I can't considering I can't find much video of Matt nor have I seen him wrestle live.

State Finals about to begin. 7:30 Start. ihsaatv.org to stream for free or Directv 671-4, which is Fox Sports Indiana. I get it, but have the sports package with all of the Fox channels. There are 4 other Nationally ranked guys (in addition to Joe Lee) wrestling tonight.

145 Brayton Lee (uncommitted Junior and every bit as impressive as Joe, but no relation)
195 Andrew Davison (committed to Michigan)
220 Mason Parris (uncommitted Junior who may play football)

Joe, Brayton Lee and Mason Parris are 3 very impressive HS wrestlers.
