Kemerer to Spartan Combat

First, I think this is just a man moving on with his life and is taking a few dollars to work out and compete. No more, no less.

However, its time to have an intranet discussion about, "what the hell is going on in IC"?

For many years tHR posters repeatedly said their RTC stunk because they were saving money for this graduation class. Now this class is here and no body is competing. Albeit I suspect ADs, the Joker, and SLee will be wrestling in the years ahead. they arent now and when might they, 2023?

Then there is the Bull who is taking a paid gig to wrestle folkstyle and is coaching the womens freestylers. All fine. All good.

My issue remains not with the wrestlers and not with the decisions being made by TnT, but by the blind BSrs of tHR.

So when I type, How did Bull do? Know now and forever its not a shot at Bull. Its about the intranet wars.

Which I might add, Im not even sure why I care anymore because this board won it long ago.

I'll just add that I'm a huge fan of everything Tom and Terry and the whole HWC crew are doing right now. Knocking it out of the park.

I hope they stick around and keep doing everything the exact same way for many years to come.

I don't think it's a HWC issue. ADS/Eierman will wrestle there. Marinelli just doesn't want to compete anymore and if he does, it will be for HWC. Him taking a exhibition for one night doesn't say much. If anything, I think he's still pretty sharp for wrestling (seeing how he competed the last few years and Richie Lewis has been out of it for a bit) and wants revenge for 2018 Big Tens.

Just think it's interesting because my original guess was Kemerer was just done with wrestling. Reports were he was iffy on the 6th year even, definitely on the 7th year. Signs of a guy who just wanted to leave his shoes on the mat and call it. Clearly he's not done and felt a change of scenery was needed.

would love to see him and cenzo renew their rivalry
I'm guessing we won't see Kemerer wrestle for quite a bit. He probably has a few things he needs to repair but I suspect when he does return, he will surprise many. Will need to get used to free rules but wrestling is wrestling ultimately. His defense and attack rate (when healthy) will translate.

agree. saw a picture of him with his shoulder in a sling recently. definitely healing up.

Definitely agree. His attack rate and clean finishing will translate perfectly to freestyle. If he really wants to make a run at it I can see him doing very well. He was the easy hawkeye to cheer for. Humble, a great wrestler, and didn’t wrestle the typical push push push he’s stallllliiiinnnngggg Iowa style. He attacked and attacked a lot. I hope he does well against everyone except NLWC

Just guessing, but the passion for the sport is there. The passion for the Hawk way and Hawk finishes is probably diminished. NLWC is not an option.
The Spartan RTC and rolling with Dake and through Dake occasionally DT has to be attractive for someone looking to get better.

Coach Brands admitted his love for fans with blind loyalty and emphasized loyalty as synonymous with accountability in his Stalemates interview. Seems quite a few on tHR follow this lead.
That stalemates interview is a trip. How did one Iowa fan come to this conclusion re: the discussion around loyalty with about 10 minutes left:

2. I need to know about this alum that burned down a program for another alum. Anyone?

i have an educated guess that it’s cenzo not having 100% loyalty to stanford. there was smoke to the woods and griffith thing in my opinion.

Interview at issue:

Are you saying that Cenzo was aware that Penn State was having discussions with Griffith and/or Woods? I'm not sure I'm getting your point clearly. Or are you saying TB is alluding to that theory in the interview?
Either way, I could not see how Rob Koll or any coach worth anything would ever keep someone on staff that did not have 100% loyalty to their program.

Everything in italics is Iowa fan talking - I don’t know how he came up with Cenzo.

I will say this, Kemerer could probably benefit from a functional patterns type regimen. Any way he can limit the strain he puts on his body while training at this point makes a lot of sense. I’ll be pulling for him vs any non-lion.

I'll be pulling for him no doubt.

But if the rumors of surgery are true on his shoulder......let's just say his 7 years in Siberia will probably keep him from making a WT.

So get some bucks to train enter a few tournaments and use the Cornell network to improve your professional career.

Wish him the best but his shoulders are going to be a problem unfortunately to senior level success.

7 years in Siberia is a long long time.

Got it. That sounded like crazy talk from you Chickenman.
Good stuff from Grip on there rationalizing Kem’s departure - tying it to having the opportunity to talk finance with Dylan Palacio.

There are plenty of logical reasons why Kemerer is moving back East - hobnobbing with a nutcase like Palacio is not one of them

Bottom line: Bono couldn't hang onto Kemmerer

If Kemerer wanted to talk finance with a professional, he could've moved home to Pittsburgh and hung out with Nico.

Though Nico Would Not Teach Him To Capitalize Every Word Like Palacio Does.
