Army Match Results
We had 58 players for the first dual-board KYPSW contest. There was fairly even representation, with 30 from BWI and 28 from 247Sports. That is very close to the number that we had last year and is a very manageable number for me.
Here's how this typically works...After each match, I will post the results and some commentary, usually with some words of praise for the match winner, and some words of derision for guys at the bottom or for someone that made some really strange prediction. And, I try to pick out anything that is noteworthy from the match scoring. It's all in good fun, so no one needs to get their feelings hurt. There's a good Ames2state joke in there, but I'll let it alone. Now, that joke is going to go over half the field's head, which is going to happen from time to time, since this is a dual-board contest. Oh, well, not really much we can do about it.
Without further ado, let's talk results. Scores ranged from 27 down to 20, which is not particularly surprising, because of PSU domination of their opponent. In fact in the 9 bouts other than 125, the picks were unanimous. Well, unanimous, except for one lonely pick of Caywood winning, but since this is the first week, we won't call out the guy who picked Caywood. Okay, Zepgraffiti? Picking the win type is always the most difficult, and where most people lost points was in being too conservative. I mean, come on Keener, dropping a guy in a headlock in your first Rec Hall match? Wrestlingeek and Tom McAndrew were the only two that saw that coming.
Speaking of Tom McAndrew, congratulations for being the Army match winner, with 27 points, 10 correct picks and 7 correct bonus types. Fire. At the other end of the spectrum, Dunkej01 earlier this week posted #whodoesntlikebraggingrights. To that, I say, #youhaveworktodo.

As always, if you see a mistake, let me know. It is particularly helpful if you tell me what page your picks were in.
