Kyle Dake

he alluded to something not being right, perhaps not having certain supplements (as he talked about security checks in airports) and even mentioned Doctor. Documentary has apparently been in the works since his college days and should be coming out this year... he wasn't positive if they should wait until after world's...
I guess he couldn't get the supplements and food produced in his longitudinal band through Customs in Tokyo. That explains everything. The miso soup did him in.

Dake went from serious P4P consideration to somewhat pedestrian in one match. If there is a legal suppliment out there that can do that, then I am in.

Dake should put his face on the label and he will be a millionaire by the end of the year.

I am squarely in the camp that he was far from himself in that match without question, and something unknown was wrong. Could a supplement have done that? I tend to doubt it

Hard to turn around an ankle in a day, especially since Miyagi is dead. Otherwise, always good to see your posts - good info.

He was in Japan after all...

Same info I had and then also thought the same thing about a 1 day diff.
But. He has hardware now and that lasts forever.

Maybe it was just kadz that took him to the woodshed. We have seen it before with other wrestlers at nat champ getting pinned out of the blue. It happens.

I gotta say parts of the Flo Gilman interview sounded like Cael sent him to see Miyagi in CA.
Gilman was talking about something that sounds like something I have used successfully on myself and my son. It is amazing the things people know that can tap into your subconscious and pinpoint thoughts and beliefs and then can eliminate them or redirect them into something positive.

I am not sure exactly what he was exposed to, but there are a lot of new age (wait Kyle Dake is calling) methods out there that help people to achieve more of their potential.

Corby on The First Word said he knew about Dake dealing with some stuff during the Olympics, so something must have been going on. So did Willie.

I thought Dake didn't look great in his opening match, but didn't view it as cause for concern b/c why not preserve yourself if you're going to wrestle again in under an hour. But it was how easily he lost that exchange in his second match to Kadzimahamedau that suggests he just wasn't the same wrestler we've seen. Dake doesn't lose exchanges at all anymore, much less that easily. I can't recall the last time I saw him give up an offensive point that he didn't mind giving up. His strength alone should have been sufficient to fight off that initial four. Maybe it was weight-cut related, but I doubt that--few wrestlers are as conscientious about their diet as Dake.
I thought he looked terrible his first match, regarding his conditioning. He just didn't look normal to me.

A nice sauvignon blanc would have pared well with the miso.

Just traded some text messages on this same topic with a friend who is a doctor. He definitely could see something wasn't right, but no way to tell what it was without more info. We both know someone who knows Dake quite well but we agreed it would be pretty tacky to make inquiries of that nature. Hence, we're going to have to wait like everyone else.
