Lavert Hill: "Penn State disrespected us last year."

He is, but Nassib had a bonkers junior year (15 sacks). There was no way his draft stock was ever going to be any higher.

Sanders hasn't hit his ceiling yet.

Nassib was a 5th year senior when he had the big year, wasn’t he? Sanders has another year of eligibility left and I don’t see him turning pro after this season.

Needs to go? C'mon.

If they lose on a last second field goal to OSU, would it hurt? Yes. Opportunity lost? Yes.

Michigan will lose some junior stars like Rashan Gary (haven't missed him) Devin Bush (hard to replace) and David Long, but they are loaded just about everywhere and the only team who has cracked Don Brown at all was Penn State last year.

They return 9/10 in the two deep on the offensive line, bring in a ton of talent on the D line, and if Patterson left (why would he?) their two guys behind him are better runners, with stronger arms, and about 20-40 more pounds.

Michigan will 100% be in the B1G hunt next year. Their two tough road games (at Wisconsin and at PSU) are splittable with Wisconsin taking a step back and they get OSU and MSU at home.

Next year it looks like this to me

1. Michigan and PSU- Penn State loses total gem at qb, Michigan loses MLB and possibly 1 or 2 lock down corners.
2. OSU loses Haskins and possibly Meyer
3. MSU returns a lot, but I am not buying who they have at qb and they play at Michigan, at OSU, and travel to Wisconsin.
Michigan will definitely miss Higdon next year. Big loss.

He only played for three years, so I thought he had another year of eligibility, but I could be wrong.

I think he walked on and redshirted, sat a year, then played three. Wasn’t he something like 199 pounds as a freshman?

I think you are correct. Mea culpa. I think I was confusing him with the other DL who left early (Sickells), not in terms of them as a player, but in terms of leaving early.

That’s the fantastic, ignorant world of being a Michigan fan. Unless Franklin said exactly what you wanted to hear, you wouldn’t believe it.
Ironically that applies to fans who can't look at a situation objectively. Again, if anyone actually believed Franklin's explanation, then it is what it is. No point in discussing it further

If Michigan makes the CFP, I can't wait to see Alabama or Clemson disrespect the crap out of Hill and Michigan.

No, I’ll discuss it further because you’re being a fool. Franklin has a standard of playing hard for 60 minutes. If they weren’t ready for that kick, then he felt he needed to call a timeout to let the players know that the coaches will also work for 60 minutes.

ur? I’m not 12.
Penn State has gone into victory formation, which has absolutely nothing to do with being prepared for a field goal.
As for Schiano, I’m not a fan of sending people on the football field and asking them to play patty cake. I’m all for playing to the whistle. In my opinion, you should not complain about football players playing football.

My apologies, didnt mean to offended u by using "ur" that includes future use. If ur ok with having a dine go after an unexpecting o lines legs, I understand why u believe Franklin.

Entering into a shell rather than giving real game reps to backups is a disservice to the players and team. It's a disservice to the opposing team as well. Never waste an opportunity to get better.

You didn’t offend me, it just seems juvenile.
You missed the point. I’m not fine with players trying to injure other players. I am fine with players playing the game. Firing off at the snap is part of the game.

That was always a part of Joe’s style that I didn’t like. Let the guys in the game play.

I agree. Let the third string backup guys run the playbook. If it is 3rd and 8, let them throw a pass. I don't see that as disrespectful.

And even if a team is "disrespectful", so what? That just provides the opponents with ammo for the next meeting. Sticks and stones will break bones but 4th quarter points will never hurt...

When the opposing team is in victory formation, it's common sense. Theres a reason why everybody sees that as dirty and Theres a reason why schiano was hated by not just other coaches but by his own players.

Fantastic. That’s for visiting.

Bo was the most powerful man in Ann Arbor, how could he not know? Knowing and not acting = enabling.

Obviously you can't prove a negative. But that's how people treated Joe.
So I’ll ask again...where is the proof that Bo knew about Dr. Nasser? Heck, where is the proof that Nasser assaulted anyone during his brief time at UM?

I get that y’all are (rightly) mad at how people treated Joe, but this is a pretty serious charge to levy “because that’s how they treated Joe.”

It’s with the proof that Joe knew about and enabled Sandusky.

Wilton Speight: “We called the same play eight times in a row”

Wilton Speight on the Penn State defense: “I just started laughing.”

https://www.maizenbrew.com/2016/9/2...eveon-smith-ty-isaac-karan-higdon-chris-evans

Wilton Speight called the same play not once, not twice, not three times, but eight times in a row for the Michigan offense against Penn State on Saturday.

“I think there was one drive in the third or fourth quarter where we called the same play eight times in a row,” he said. “We would just flip it back and forth. I started laughing looking at the play call because they would do the same signal and the same number every time.”

During those eight plays, the Wolverines pushed the ball down the field with their run game. Between De’Veon Smith, Karan Higdon, Ty Isaac, Chris Evans, Speight, Khalid Hill and Eddie McDoom, Michigan ran the ball 49 times for 326 yards and six touchdowns.

“The lineman were getting so excited because I would call the same play and I think we were getting like 9 or 10 a pop,” Speight mentioned. “When that happens it’s demoralizing for a defense. I have never played defense, but I can imagine it would suck to go through that every single play and just have someone run you over.”

This was, no doubt, the article Penn State had pinned to the wall for last years game! How stupid of Speights for saying this crap! Like I said to the guys at work today........................"paybacks are a bitch!"
Michigan is just looking for a "psyche me up" moment for this game. Not a good way to go, IMHO.

What happens when both teams have something pinned to the wall?

Hudson isn't leaving and Long and or Hill will stay. Also, Grant Perry a big loss? Probably shows a lack of knowledge here.

I always thought McSorely was good and those Michigan fans were wrong. I also think they will be more explosive next year which will help. My guess is they lose Sanders, but you would probably know better than me.

James Franklin has never beaten a ranked team on the road in his entire career and hasn't beaten Michigan, OSU, or MSU on the road...given that, it will be tough seeing him winning another B1G
And before this year Michigan hadn’t beat a ranked team on the road in something like 15 years and that includes Harbaugh...so using that argument against Franklin seems a bit out there.

Classic Michigan.

"They disrespected us with the loss that we took last year," Hill said on the "Inside Michigan" radio show, as transcribed by Onward State's Mikey Mandarino. "Like [Michigan defensive coordinator Don] Brown said, we got to take it personal."

Penn State fans have never had any respect for Michigan.

Is that the same thing???

Not really. The game is being played at Michigan.

If it was at Penn State, you’d have a point.
