Certainly within their rights, and I know that is where we are, but.........

Could you translate your post into English for those of us not fluent in whatever language you posted in? Just curious. o_O
Thanks Nova, I tried translating it to football but it didn't make sense there either.

IIRC, a couple years ago Pitt made the PSU football game part of a package -- you couldn't just buy PSU, you had to buy multiple games.

Maybe Lehigh is doing something similar here?

As long as we go all Cable Guy on them (a little cryptic early 2000's humor in the spirit of the rivalry and the post)........still no clue what the post means.

If I remember correctly, Surf City is two for one. Perhaps Allentown is upping their game?

I don't imagine PSU would be happy if they are forcing people to buy 3 duals to attend the PSU one. I'd think it would make it easier to leave them off the schedule entirely in the future. Guaranteed sellout vs just another dual in front of 100 fans.

If Lehigh really is requiring packaged matches to also get the PSU ticket, then we need to counter with a 3 in State College, 1 in Bethlehem offer for the next series extension. Same should be offered to Pitt football

If it is three meets to get tickets how does that work? Wasnt it moved to a bigger arena? How can they selltickets for seats that don't exist at the other two meets?

Their website advertises season tickets and a mini plan. Mini plan mentions buying two tix for other matches and receive tickets to PSU dual. No mention of individual tickets yet. I'd be surprised if they wouldn't let folks buy individual tix to PSU match, since they're moving to larger arena. Here's the link

Sports Marketing 101: Use the big duals to drum up interest and revenue for other duals.

Also, as a bonus, you give your fans the best seats and keep the percentage of home fans at the match high. This second part would work nicely unless PSU fans would buy the mini plan :)

I know I will most likely take the offer. Lehigh has done this in the past. Basically, you buy the PSU tickets and you get two other duals thrown in at a reduced price. To me it's much better than having to commit to a season ticket most years. This year the home schedule is much better than prior years, so a season ticket isn't filled with crap matches. I'm not yet decided if I do the mini-plan or the season ticket, but I like having the option.

Cost per capita for my group:

Total cost is $45 per person

Includes 2 Lehigh season tickets (MICH, NAVY)

-$8 each

And PSU tickets

-$21

And… $7 of “fees”

When will the Lehigh marketing geniuses figure out this will lead to good sales for Mich and Navy and no attendance. In fact they could sell out, have zero attendance, and not be able to sell tickets to the people that do come. Dumb, too dumb. I want to get Lehigh tickets and lead a group, but I will not pay the blackmail.

I will most likely attend the two matches that got thrown in (basically). $8 is a good price for a match at Grace and Navy and Oklahoma should be good matches. I was thinking about Michigan, but the lure of the Keystone Classic is too strong. No complaints here. All the mini-plan really does is get you better seats for PSU than if you waited and two matches at a bargain rate.

Smart ass comment alert!

I know John Urschel is a math wizard but this math needs an explaination.

8 + 8 + 21 + 7 = ? I guess it's 45 today

This 3 for 1 never happened for me. I went to ppl center website for presale. entered the secret code that was shared and got a floor seat 6 rows off the mat. It was $45.75 including fees out the wazoo. But no 3fer1.

The Binghamton seats. $10 each. No fees no nothing. It was nice to not pay fake fees for no services rendered.

I agree with dblboofus, paid way too many fees, got cheap seats because of it, but we will be there with no three for one problem.

You most likely could have waited until Lehigh was doing single match sales to do that. The 3 for 1 offer, I still think, is a good one. You get two matches at a steeply discounted price and get seats for PSU before the general public without paying excessive fees.
