Let’s summarize why Trace McSorley is turrible.

Consider the following:

1. Pop-gun arm
2. 50/50 balls
3. Inaccurate
4. His receivers drop too many passes.
5. He always plays better than he actually is.
6. He’s cool under pressure.

Did I miss anything?

Franklin should have kept him on defense.

He’s always improvising. When the play breaks down, he runs around trying to make the big throw or trying get a big run.
Although he is almost always successful, he should set a good example for the kids and always play by the book. Quarterbacks should always fall down and take the sack or throw the ball out of bounds when they get in trouble so they don’t get hurt.

Trace is a winner, pure and simple. But, today, he needs the game of his life to keep up with Haskins if we get into a shoot out. Our W/R's need to hang onto the ball and Trace needs to make those short throws over the middle and/or seem routes which have given him some problems in the past.

Well, okay, he needs to play well, but he doesn't need the game of his life IMO. He does his job well, and his teammates do their job well = excellent chance of a PSU win. Penn State is not outclassed here.

True. But, Haskins throws lazers. I like our chances also.

His first year, number 1 and 2 were 100% accurate. 3 was a fair criticism.
watch most of the big plays and they were an all out heave as far and as high as he could throw it. Most often the receiver had to adjust, come back, and simply out-jump/compete for the pass. Much like Allen Robinson did for Hack, Trace luckily had Godwin and Gesicki.
What Trace did have was a winner's presence and the guy just grinded out every situation and showed why he was a winner in HS and why he won games in college. But #s 1-3 were fair, IMHO.

That can no longer be said. His deep balls are no longer a heave and he is hitting receivers instead of receivers catching jump balls. Trace has gotten markedly better over his career and he has a good chance to be in uniform on Sundays.
