There. I said the thing that nobody wants to say. I've seen enough now. He can't get open, he has almost no catch radius, and cannot make contested catches. Get him the hell off the field and use DINKINS in his place on some snaps, with the percentage being 50 percent DINKINS in 12 personnel, 25 percent Fleming, and the other being 25 percent with Denmark.

Enough is enough.

Feel like he hasn’t done anything in weeks

The whole wide receiver group can't get open . He fits right in.

This is not true. Both Evans and Wallace made plays last week. Your receiver GROUP is only as strong as it's weakest link and right now when 2 is on the field you are operating with 10 men offensively.
We are a better 12 personel team. With our RBs as a receiving threat it actually helps our explosiveness. Better blocking up front helps plays develop. Told you guys we’d be doing more 12 personel.

The Cliffords have never caught a break on this board! But seriously, he has done absolutely nothing recently. Midseason he was showing some promise and has gone cold since.

Calling him a liability is extreme. I'm pretty sure that we're better off with him that without him.

I think it would be more appropriate to say that he lacks the skill set to be a primary target at this level. The question is why haven't we been able to recruit WRs with more talent? WTF happened to Fleming? He had over 500 yds as a sophomore even though he was the #3 WR for OSU. The depth chart was wide open at PSU but he saw limited action and only had 174 yds. How did he regress so much? Ivey & Flowers were both 4* WRs. It seems like one of these kids would be able to make an impact.

Saunders was another 4* WR. His injury was a mystery. How was he healthy enough to return/FC punts for a few weeks then suddenly be out for the season? Did he aggravate a short term injury and make it a long term injury by calling fair catches?

No, you said the thing that no one wants to hear. Like much of what you say, to be honest.

Exactly. He’s more of an asset than a liability, or he wouldn’t be in there. —He’s part of the reason Singleton and Allen ran for 300 yards ( or there about) last game. —He’s not a top end talent, but he’s serviceable, intelligent, and a good blocker….much like Fleming . You have to defer to the coaches for evaluation and efficient use of talent…. The coaches aren’t playing Xbox, they dealing with reality. Better WR’s are needed ( through portal/recruiting), but I’m confident the best complete players are out there.

He is a total liability. No catches the past few games and no threat at all to any defense not named UCLA.

But--what is his role? I don't think he's a guy you expect to pull in many catches.
Our offense is Warren heavy (as it should be) but if SMU or anyone else play heavy zone against us you'll see his targets go way up

He's slow and is just a terrible route runner. He has good hands if he happens to get open which is very rare. Maybe he's a good blocker but he's not a threat at all.

He's not an elite route runner or anything but he might be our best--none of our receivers is open often

Your solution is someone with LESS catches.

The problem isn't Clifford. The problem is psu doesn't have a #1 receiver. Clifford is middle of the pack. If psu had a legit #1 then Clifford would get bumped down the depth chart and get less playing time.

How about flowers, ivy, Johnson and saunders with ONE catch combined. Psu probably should have processed a couple of them and brought in a couple more wrs.

God you are tedious 😂. It's not about OUR solutions, it's about the staff not doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result. Clifford is a liability. Great staffs fix those. Period.

What should they do different? Maybe you think they hire Hartline and only sign 5*s. Great idea except he isn't available and there are zero 5* WRs in pa this year.

They already changed wr coaches. Hagan's has 7 commits on the way who all have at least one 4 star and you can't stop complaining. Hagan's did not recruit or scout Clifford.

Did the great OSU staff do anything different with Flemming vs Harrison?

How come some of the supposed great staffs are not in the playoffs?

Not one of Hagans recruits has risen above the starters. That's on Hagans.

Clifford isn't athletic enough to play at the BIG level. He should be playing for Kent State, pitt, Bucknell, etc. Clifford should never have been recruited. That said, the rest of the receivers are not much better. If we had decent receivers we would likely be undefeated and Allar would be a Heisman candidate.

Fix is how? If the kids were better they'd be playing
They should have known back in the spring that the wide receivers sucked. A good move would have been converting Quinton Martin to WR. He might be starting now. A major problem for us is that we were counting on Fleming being our premier wideout and it turned out that he sucks.

That's all fair but can't change that now

They can fix it right now with Denmark and DINKINS sharing his reps.
No, they can't. What makes you believe Denmark and Dinkins are better? Dinkins is a poor route runner that hasn't shown anything. Denmark has shown even less than Dinkins. The focus on Clifford here is just odd. Wallace, Evans and Clifford suck

The absolute beauty of this thread is that since I put Loado on ignore, it's like 90 percent of the shit on these threads is gone. 😂
