Complete defensive lapse and the resulting turnover winds up behind Payton. 2-2 now. Really bad brain fart by 3 of our players to let that happen. End of Period.

No, he was suspended by the Big Ten for tonight's game. Was the happy elbow thug from Wisc playing tonight?
Thank youNo, he was suspended by the Big Ten for tonight's game.
On TV it looked like a disappointing crowd. I would think a conference game against a highly rated Wisconsin team would sell out. Any idea why the crowd was so thin? I thought PSU sold out most games.
Unfortunately I think a large amount of the season tix are owned by businesses or those more than 30 minutes away. Hockey doesn’t get decent crowds it seems until football season is over.
Crowds have been very disappointing this season, even for the Friday night before the Michigan football game.
I hear there is a long waiting list but even those trying to sell tix for low prices are having a tough time on secondary market. So who knows.
Didn't they make it a lot harder for people to get tickets that just decide to come down the day or before of the game? Either outside the arena, or printing them off on line? Seemed I got an email about that a few months ago that insinuated that if I bought season tickets, and wasn't able to drive 4 or 5 hours on a Tursday or Wednesday night, I wouldn't be able to give them to someone else.
It was a little confusing, and I had other things on my mind, so I just decided to forget about it. Sounds like others had the same (non) response.
Note to marketing. Keep things simple, and people will come.
Also, 6:00 on a Friday night is a bad start time. Half the crowd is late for Friday night 7:00 games. One positive - the Roar Zone was full and really into the game. They make the difference in the atmosphere. The Roar Zone was extra loud last night, even after the game through the singing of the alma mater and the celebration with the team. It's worth staying around afterward to see.
Yep, the football effect is real. The Pegula was almost empty already by the end of the second Sacred Heart game - 4:30 start on Sat., Oct. 12. The final score was 5-4. They started clearing out at the end of the 2nd period. By the middle of the 3rd I felt bad for the team. Football fans had to get home and make preparations for the start of the Iowa game.Let’s be realistic. If PSU/OSU football game is at noon, the hockey game will be later in the night and crowd will likely be weak because people either got too liquors up to attend or if Penn State does lose some people won’t feel like attending.

It's a great experience.I might have to plan a trip for a hockey weekend some time. Wish I lived closer.
