Defeat! That's a joke. The more reasonable explanation is that the A9's scrutiny of the Freeh source documents is bearing fruit. The university honoring Joe/apologizing to Sue is the first step. IMO, AL & Co. are holding the cards here.

Five years of depositions, court rulings, PS4RS trustee member sabre rattling, Ziegler/Blehar/others private sleuthing, Corman intervention and what has materially changed with regards to the veracity of the Freeh report and mitigating financial payouts (NCAA/Victims/lawyers)? Not much. On a more positive note, the university continues to move on an upward financial/reputational trajectory and Ira Lubert being UNANIMOUSLY named as Chairman.
It's over and the move on crowd has all but won. Nothing to pretend, this is reality except for the small number of fringe lunes who don't live in it.
You and others can join the move on crowd for the betterment of the university or continue to wallow in misery and false hope. Your choice but I hope it's the former and not the latter. If it should be the latter, that would be sad and something I think JVP himself would lament.

No part of Freeh's silliness has ever had any veracity wrt Paterno. He had no evidence to present 4 years ago, and when pressed under deposition, retreated all the way back to it being a mere opinion. So, yes I agree, nothing has changed wrt the veracity of Freeh's Pre-Law 202 midterm paper-level 'report'.
As for the other stuff..... I believe there is more to the last BOT meeting 'stuff' than meets the eye, and I believe a deal was struck that will eventually show that the OG has retreated a few steps or more due to what has been uncovered by the A9+ review. But I don't know, and neither do you. So we'll wait to see what happens.
So, no I'm not ready to move on in the manner you wish. And you really are foolish to try to state what JVP himself would want here. I just cannot imagine him seeing eye-to-eye with you on that, based on his family's dogged pursuit to dig into this to its conclusion. I'll move on on this particular aspect of the issue when the Paterno family does.
