Mark Hall Announcement Day Thread

How does Northwestern keep getting these top ranked recruits; yet, make no noise on the B1G or national scene?
probably cause Northwestern is a very tough academic school. Also, not sure of the tuition, but I would imagine the blue chip recruits take up the schollies leaving depth an issue. They always have one on the podium or very close to it.

Hey, State College is in the heart of some great grouse (PA state bird) hunting...(at least nearby)... he can feel right at home...

You must mean in the team race, because they've had several outstanding college wrestlers: Tsirtsis, McMullan, Welch, etc.

Northwestern has virtually no depth. Their roster rarely reaches 20 total wrestlers. Illinois is a very good HS wrestling state, but NW is far too expensive to draw in-state depth guys.

I knew you meant the Magic Man. Just wanted to increase my post count:). Congratulations to Cael on landing another top ranked recruit. Rutgers just got a verbal from Mulligan of Bergen Catholic, he was ranked top ten at his weight class. However, there were 2 Wyoming Seminary wrestlers ranked 1 and 3. Any chance at either?
I don't see Cael seriously recruiting Dietrich, let alone trying to flip him. Good wrestler, but not distinguishable from Hunter Ritter, who last year went to Wisconsin after Cael landed Kellan Stout.

Reenan ... fantastic talent. But at what weight? If 184, that's where Nickal likely ends up (at least short term). If 197, that's a little different, but the coaches are pretty happy with Cassar and Stout. Guessing if he's flippable -- not a given -- then other schools will take a harder run at him. (Side note: most guys from Seminary or Blair tend to go to Stanford, NW, or the Ivies. Some exceptions: Evans, Dietrich, etc. Reenan is already going to NW.)

And then there's that money thing. Cael did say in Media Day that he's filled his needs for this year.

I'm beginning to think that Reenan might be going to Northwestern more because of it being a fantastic school than anything else. Since he's committed, Borschel left (the coach around his weight), and Pariano has left. He may have reopened his recruitment but I haven't heard much.
BINGO! You are truly talking an Ivy league level school in the B10.

That is exactly what I meant. It seems they have loads of talent at many weight classes.

Bump.

Sick in bed. Just listened to archived audio of a few of last night's matches (Shakur, Bo, Zain), and now watching some Mark Hall matches.

Helps to lessen the sting of a young, thin football team taking its lumps.

Yes, our football team is going through growing pain, while our wrestling team is dishing out pain.

Remember when Mark Hall committed to the Penn State Nittany Lions in hopes of winning 4 National Titles as an individual and as a team member?

24hrs has not dulled my excitement one bit.
Can't wait for Hall to go the OTC and be convinced by Slay to stick around.

You know the truth of the situation but you couldnt help yourself. I guess no matches this weekend caused your itch to become sore.
