Mark looks small for 174. Maybe he'd fare better at 165. Could anyone see Mark and Cenzo switching weights at some point in the future?
Yes. He is a 165 pounder but you will not see a switch....Mark looks small for 174. Maybe he'd fare better at 165. Could anyone see Mark and Cenzo switching weights at some point in the future?

Think he typically wrestles at 74 kg in Free which translates closer to 165 (just over 163 to be precise), but I don't see him switching if he's already put weight on in preparation to go 174 (i.e., at this point, it would just hurt him more competitively to make "the cut" back to 165 for competition.).

Actually my bad, last year he wrestled 84 kg Free because I remember him going against Bo Nickal.... He did fine on his feet despite being an undersized 84 kg - obviously Free stresses neutral more than Folk, so Mark is probably correct that he made a tactical error in the 1st Period against Meyer. 84 kg translates to roughly 185 lbs.
The match against Nickal at 84 kg was in June 2014. Or, using the math Spyker used in the Tristan Law thread, going on six years ago.

That's some fine 2-hr analysis there! The match against Nickal at 84 kg was in June 2014. Or, using the math Spyker used in the Tristan Law thread, going on six years ago.
I think Mark will be fine at 174lbs. He's only lost two matches. He won the Scuffle. He's going to AA. The kid is a talent.
Excited to see how he does against top-caliber competition on a regular basis. Many of his early matches were not against the best that's out there.
This is a good, solid, wrestling oriented post.^I still think Hall could wrestle on Saturday Night at Nationals - he is still perfecting his match tactics and strategies. I tend to agree with Hall himself regarding last Friday night - he got to far astray from what made him so successful in Free; he might be the most dynamic wrestler from neutral in the country @74 and he should accentuate that advantage, not neutralize it by keeping the score low in the 1st Period. People don't like to hear it, but you often do learn more in a loss, than a win.....so those losses may really pay off in the latter half of the season as Hall perfects his style, strategy and tactics.

And I agree, and I am betting you see the Mark Hall we know best from here on in, but with an experience upgrade from now being cut loose by Cael, and given the strategy he will learn both in the room, and from experience.
Well Meyer is unpredictable as it gets but a TF seems unlikely at this point. Who knows..Was talking to my buddy at of all things youth bball practice last night. We were talking about the mark hall loss. He told us a story of how in a match against Iowa he lost track of the score in his head (forgot about RT) and gave up a lazy td with 10 secs left, that put the match to OT where he gave up another TD on a scramble. Said that was the year they were supposed to finally beat iowa and they got smashed including him. said the carver crowd was going nuts and just sucked the life out of them.
Moral of the story in relation to Hall. My buddy TF'd the same iowa wrestler at Big10s later that year.
Yes. Hall will kill that guy if they wrestle again...ANYONE can write that down....He was super nervous in his first match....I could see it when he ran out on the mat....Same with Nick S. in the first period....That is all behind them now ! Both are looking very forward to wrestling the same guys....Was talking to my buddy at of all things youth bball practice last night. We were talking about the mark hall loss. Yeah i get that Dunkej01. Guess its more of a testament to Iowa Fans and Carver than anything. I liked the story. If it came across that i was suggesting mark would TF him next time i wasnt. I meant to say guys have bad matches (especially at CHA) and reverse the results when the pressure of the moment is different.
