Call me naive but I sincerely hope this has a happy ending for Chance. He seemed like such a polite kid who never "big-timed" his opponent. No chest thumping. No screams. No index fingers wagging in the air. Just domination followed by a handshake, much like Nolf.

I'm not a specialist so I listed many options, but he needs time away from society as he is a menace. To attack law enforcement and then attack healthcare personnel(as I understand it) is completely unacceptable and can't just written off as he was 'drunk','stoned'...
I should go back and read the detail because he should've been in restraints in the ER(again no clue on ER policy) since he was ultra aggressive and a danger to himself.
I reiterate I stopped reading this thread since some posts thought the police over reacted. I feel the opposite, I think the police should've tagged and bagged him when he exhibited his aggressive behavior.
i agree with you that the" he was just drunk or high excuse doesn't cut it. i never got drunk and helped old ladies cross the street, work in a soup kitchen or help teach people to read. my point being i may not have known what i was going to do but i was fully aware it would be bad.. you drink or use drugs, you're responsible for what you do.

I could make that a fun Saturday night.

...only a few people know. But I, in a glass house, will only admit the numerous times I was 'lucky'!! We probably all have realized that with a little 'bad luck' situations could have been much worse for us when looking back.

You got that one right, and I'll second it. I did some pretty dumb things when I had too much to drink and I was extremely lucky that I never got into very serious trouble. I took stock of everything some years back and stopped drinking alcohol right then and there. Haven't touched a drop since.

The bottom line is that even if you don't fit the mold of a classic alcoholic, drinking can still be dangerous depending on your personality and probably some other things that I don't know about. My advice to everyone is to tread very carefully. Just because you're doing fine today doesn't mean you can't screw up tomorrow. All it takes is a little bad luck and the wrong circumstances and your life can be turned upside down very quickly. Like a_mshaffer, I was lucky, but that's no guarantee for everyone.

Naive? Quite the contrary I'd say the vast majority of normal-thinking adults share your sentiments. After all we're talking about what, a twenty year old kid? Yeah he f^.£Ed up (badly) here, and same goes for Andrew Long and the wrestlers who ran the illicit drug ring at Minnesota that ultimately led to JRob's downfall (we all know who they are, no need to name names here). Do people like this deserve punishment? I would argue yes, of course, but I doubt anyone with a heart wishes him ill will or extended suffering. Nothing "naive" about it.

Personally, until proven otherwise, I find the discussions about bath salts, flakka or whatever you want to call it extremely distasteful in this thread.

From Jason Isbell, musician:

Do you credit sobriety with helping you grow artistically on this album?

It's given me more time to work. I think the key to growing creatively is just doing the work, and it's certainly taken away a lot of distractions. I used to spend six or eight hours drinking and another four to six hours recovering and then seven or eight hours of fitful sleep. That's pretty much the whole day gone. Now I don't have those urges.

He tested positive for both coke and weed, in addition to the alcohol. While it isn't BS, I think the mannerisms warranted the discussion, especially if it's a buzz in PA.

For sure if you have substance abuse problems you should stay away from substances.
Its kinda like the first time I went to a cardiologist and he was asking the get to know my patient, medical and behavior, history questions. Do you smoke, "no, never, but I used to chew snuff." Do you drink? "Well let me tell you about drinking. I like to drink, but anymore I simply choose to not drink, and everything is so much simpler."

My former college coach posted this a little while ago looks like Chance still plans on wrestling really hope he does get his life together

Some of you may already know about this, but for those that don't, here is a positive update about Chance. He is striving to make a comeback in his life and wrestling. I hope the kid can pull it off. Here is the link to The Record.

Thanks for posting. I think everyone here is pulling for him, even if he never wears the blue and white.

Would love to see him find the right path. Remember, he gave IMar a hell of a match only a month or two after the law incident. Think about him with a balanced focus ...
