Mass judge loving his 15 minutes of fame

Judge just ruled women guilty of manslaughter in convincing man to commit suicide.

i didn't watch the trial, but my gut tells me this is not a good decision...

Troubling. Her actions were contemptible, but this is a dangerous step. So if somebody on this board gets into a stupid spat (as u may have noticed happens from time to time) with another poster and signs off with "go kill yourself" - and he does ... criminal responsibility?

Quite a leap from what she did to someone signing off and saying "go kill yourself". She is a horrible horrible "human" and maybe manslaughter isn't the right charge, but, she should be charged with something.

Not only did she badger him to kill himself after she knew he was in a bad mental state, she didn't call the police, parents or ambulance when she knew he actually did it. Not only that, she did it so she could get attention for herself. ugh,

She did a tad more than that. She basically goaded him into doing it. What a lovely "girlfriend" she was. She's charged as a minor, it's not like her punishment will be too devastating.

BBrown, I agree, which is why I wrote my gut.Jdge went out of his way saying that she was not the cause for him wanting to committ suicide - and at that point it appeared she was going to be found not guilty (I was waching live, and she and her aty appeared releived)...then the Judge went on to say she had assumed a responsilbility to do more after he got out of the car.,

maybe i would have the same opinion if i heard all the evidence.

Carter was charged as a youthful offender, which means that even though she was a minor at the time of the incident, she was charged as an adult.

Her sentencing is set for Aug. 3. The maximum possible sentence is 20 years.
