I thought there were a lot of empty seats on Sunday and it got me thinking about match times. This year there are Fri, Sat, and Sun matches 2:00, 3:00, 5:00, 7:00, 7:30, and 9:00 start times
I get that some matches Ned to be in prime time (ASU v PSU, Iowa v tOSU, etc);

Does anyone think the start time affected attendance and what is the best day and time for the fans?

I am sure a little bit of it had to do with time. But the opponent had more to do with it. If Suriano was there I bet attendance would be way up.

Wait. What is starting at 9:00? Oops, hold on, I can Google that. Oh, the central time zone matches. I thought you were taking about home matches.

So, yes, I think the 5:00 start time affected attendance. It was down, significantly.

Personally, I love the Saturday night matches, but fully understand that can't happen, so Sunday at 2:00 is 2nd choice.

I was at the match but the driving conditions on my 210 mile trip each way was not pleasant from upstate NY. I believe the weather played a small part in holding down attendance ( rec hall was I believe over 90% filled). Travel back in the dark in inclement weather on a Sunday night is less than ideal.

Start time, it was on TV, weather, NFL games, jmo.

Like gymdad, it was a bear driving on Rt 22 from Blairsville to Holidaysburg due to snow on the way to the match. Single lane driving as the passing lane was very iffy. Drivers going 15 under the speed limit. Penn Dot was out plowing but the mountains are the mountains. The ride home was a breeze.

The 5:00 definitely threw me for a loop (as I first showed up at 1:30, lol). (I really should learn that assumption addage....)

Had to be ESPN's doing, right?
