Dunn 2 early fouls really hurt. Kern is more of a liability.

PSU up 7-1 early quickly turns to a 17-14 Indy lead. 1-4 FT shooting doesn't help.

We are playing pretty well. Ace is hot, and Yanic is scoring and blocking. Refs are making some bad calls but they are balanced. Close at the half.

PSU has little margin for error. Ballo is so strong they can't get stops. All it takes is a couple of misses and lazy D closing out on 3 pt shooters and a 5 pt lead turns into a 6 pt deficit.

We’re making sure the refs don’t decide it by losing it on our own. We have no clutch shooters and Indiana does.
Or clutch defenders. Playing D for all 30 seconds and getting your hands up takes determination when you're tired.

We might be a bit over matched but we also don't know how to win. Down the stretch Ace & Hicks both forced 3s when it wasn't necessary.

You are not going to win games by giving up 80 plus points. The lack of defensive intensity is the biggest concern with Rhoades and this team. Can he get the team next year to play better defense?? He better or there will be no dancing....again. It seems like a key part of the recipe in all of our losses is the other team has their best offensive game.

Only in 5 of 18 B10 games have we held the opponent under 75 points. Just weak.

Kind of a Groundhog Day game. Seen this before...

Few things I noticed- Goode for them seemed to take away Hicks for most of the game from deep. Solid D by him.

Konan has really developed and appears to have an even higher ceiling. He missed some free throws and a bunny or two that could've made a difference.

Hicks, Ace and especially Kern had some wild drives that resulted in misses and/or turnovers. There was a stretch where Kern had the ball on offense far too much.

Small things like Carter missing 2 fts hurt a team like ours because we never seem to have enough in the end. Announcers said kid is like 3-11 pn season. Ugh

Ace played a strong game and was the villian with the crowd. Too bad he leaves Bloomington a loser. The fans were chanting "F_ _ _ Ace Baldwin" late.

In the end Hicks lax D on Galloways first 3 opened the floodgates leading to another and the one by Rice late in shot clock. Then 3 PSU players giving up offrnsive board to Ballo @ 51 seconds really ended it.

They played just like the 76ers @ Knicks tonight- had their moments, gritty game, covered the spread but really blew a great chance for a nice road W.

3 games left...Hard to think the team that beat Purdue can't even make the Big Ten tourney. Sad....

Thought the team battled hard tonight. Difficult place to play. Didn't quit. Did not throw the season in. Ace appears to now be healthy and played like a warrior. Yannick getting better. Still no Puff. With a healthy ace and puff gotta believe we would have won several of those 7 - 6 point conference loss games. Too little too late I understand that. Hoping they play like this during the last two games and this carries over the next season along with a couple transfers who can play and some of the new kids that are coming in. This program has a long way to grow, but I believe Mike and his crew give time can make it happen.

Transfers from where? No excellent players are coming to PSU unless there is a big NIL offer. The reality is for the high end players its now a money game.

There’s only two games left and we need to win at least one and maybe both of them to make the big ten tournament.

Both I think.

Look at this. It is a good tool to run scenarios. We could get in with 6 wins but need Iowa to beat NW on the road (among other things) which probably does not happen. That means we really need to get to 7 wins.

Don't know from where but I'd take a few more like Ace, Nick, and Yonic for starters. Also, we need somebody who is a constant outside shot threat.

Need an outside shooter who can move well without th ball but also able to put the ball on the floor to create space when confronted with tight defense. Will PSU be able to hold onto Yonic?

I was thinking about Yonic bolting too.

A decent comparison could be West Chester's own Andrew Carr who played 2 years at Delaware (where his old man played), then 2 at Wake where he became a proven stronger player with better competition, to Covid year payoff $ at Kentucky.

We saw him walking with his family in the new wing at Longwood Gardens on New Year's Eve during the day. A nearly 7ft dude wearing a Kentucky letterman's jacket is hard to miss.

In the old days a guy like Konan would definitely stick with Rhodes and staff b/c they have helped create a player which looks nothing like the NIU hoopster he was.

Today- loyalty appears to mean nothing.

It's a BU$INE$$....gotta get yours.
