Michigan hit with 6 allegations of Level 1 violations for Sign Stealing Cheating

And then players will sue saying the NCAA is taking away scholarship opportunities and creating an unsafe environment. You're all not being realistic
Anybody with $150 can sue claiming anything. That doesn't mean they can win. I remember you saying that the Big ten conference would have to back off of Michigan because of the threat of a lawsuit. Instead Michigan caved.

Cheaters have lots of ways to cheat and the McCheaters are good at it.
Yes there are. However, if the governing body is serious they can enforce a good number of sanctions. Even if the cheaters try to hide it, there will always be three or four unhappy players and also dumb people like Sherrone Moore who will inadvertently spill the beans.

They'll win. See recent decisions.
Michigan caved? When and how?

Wow--talk about rewriting history if you think they "caved"
""Today’s decision by the University of Michigan to withdraw its legal challenge against the Conference’s November 10th Notice of Disciplinary Action is indicative of the high standards and values that the Conference and the University seek to uphold.....

The sudden about-face to drop the lawsuit comes less than 24 hours before Harbaugh and attorneys who represented him and the Michigan Board of Regents were set to hold a hearing in front of Judge Timothy Connors in Washtenaw County Circuit Court.

By bringing the case to court, Michigan's hope initially was to receive a temporary restraining order against the league's ruling, which would've allowed Harbaugh to coach each of the remaining regular season games. Now that Michigan has come to terms with the league, Harbaugh's suspension is final, but the Big Ten's investigation into the matter has ended.

The NCAA investigation into the matter still remains,...

The decision came down last Friday when the No. 2 Wolverines were en route to State College for a game against Penn State, their first top-10 matchup of the year, and athletic director Warde Manuel lit into the league in a statement, when he called the suspension "unethical" and "insulting".

So, we are speaking the same language, here is one definition of "caved" --capitulate or submit under pressure; cave in:

It wasn't because they were under pressure--what happened at Penn State (agreeing to be allowed to be sanctioned without a violation) is caving--this is "we know Connors will rule against us"--when you know who the judge is you have to make smart decisions.

The lawsuit was filed about 10 days earlier. They knew from the beginning who the judge was and caved when testimony would have to be given under oath. https://www.michigandaily.com/sport...g-ten-in-response-to-jim-harbaugh-suspension/ I would also add that Judge Connors was a lecturer at Mich and there is no indication that he had any bias against Michigan. The far more reasonable interpretation is that Michigan after posturing previously knew it didn't have a legal leg to stand on and caved when the Big Ten held firm.

Wrong...wrong...wrong
Do some homework on Connors

It will be interesting as this is the first big issue since the portal and NIL came to be. To me, the only meaningful penalties are
  • financial fines
  • limited number of scholarship players on the roster for a few years
  • Postseason ban for a couple of years
  • Fire the HC who was a coordinator at the time
limiting 'ships can be made up by going to the portal so you have to limit the total number of kids on 'ship at any time.
Not so fast my friend. Michigan will get hammered. Tennessee just got hammered.

Wait--people still believe real sanctions are coming? Weren't we all told repeatedly that would happen in September?
Only fools would believe September. This entire case will have taken about 18 months. It extended a bit because of CMU. It has to work on legal timelines which it has. This will be done by early to mid summer.
