About to tip. What does UVA get for a season that was one of their best from start to finish? A seventh seeded MSU team coached by Tom Izzo who has his team playing incredibly well right now and has a seed that makes about much sense as Kentucky as an 8 last year. Ouch. Everyone pretty much knows what Izzo does in tournament play.

Michigan State is going to take them down. They are going to be really trying to push the tempo, IMO.

how is MSU only up by 5 at the half? UVA just played one of their worst halves of the season (8-30 shooting)

better watch out for UVA after the break

The Seed's Based On The Current Season - Not Historical Performance!

Some teams almost always under perform.....some almost always over perform. But you have to seed based on the current team and how it performed during the year.

IMHO, Izzo's certainly one of the top five coaches in colllege basketball.....especially in March!

yeah but how does Oklahoma rate a 3 seed in that bracket? MSU was 3rd in the Big Ten, Ok was third in the Big 12 with 1 less win than MSU. Providence was FOURTH in the Big East and had TWO fewer wins MSU . . . gets a higher seed . . .

Plus they say they weigh in heavily how a team is playing NOW. MSU was warming up. They easily could have won that tournament against Wisconsin(who I think is Kentucky's only threat).

Just a bad draw all around for UVA given it being in the round of 32. Against the team that took them out as a #1 seed last year.

sometimes I think college hoops are as fixed as the NBA

Comes down to shooting! Can't go 1-18 from 3 and expect to win vs Sparty. Not outplayed, just outshot! Go Cards!

Virginia seems to underachieve come tourney time and Michigan State is always ready to battle. Tom Izzo really has his guys ready come March. It seems like year in and year out they make noise in the tourney.

It's really Kentucky alone. THEN the next 25 or so teams can win any game. Kind of fun :)
