Penn State commit Miles Sanders takes over the No. 1 spot in the ranking after moving over from the Running Back ranking.

In my opinion, he is the number 1 running back and the number 1 all purpose back. He is going to be all over the field at Penn State. Can't wait!

He has the potential to be the most important recruit since DWill, for a lot of reasons.

It's about time for those goofballs on the Pitt board to start another rumor that Sanders is wavering on his commitment.

He could waver all he wants and decommit as well....he'll still never end up at sPitt. Lol

I don't get the difference between all purpose and just running back. I thought that All Purpose generally meant smaller, but the fact is that Sanders is as big as or bigger than a lot of the people listed as just "Running back"

5'11" 210lbs seems pretty protype Runningback if you ask me.

They can catch the ball out of the backfield, basically.

It's going to be fun to watch Miles gain over 200 yards against the pitters in front of a partisan Penn State crowd at Heinz Field. That should put a dagger in their hearts much like 48-14 did.

so does that make All-Purpose Back > Running Back?

I always thought of AP Back as being more of a derrick williams type and not so much of an every down back.
But Sanders to me is an every down back. I don't understand when people say he is small.

IMO they moved Sanders so that he would not overtake Walker. Sanders is better than Walker but rivals seems to like to move PSU commits down so in the face of overwhelming evidence even from Buckeye reporters that Sanders is a 5 star talent, you can't make him a 5 star and keep Walker as one without separating them.

Similarly, Simmons went out and dominated at camps but was listed as a big mover to the downside in their positional updates. Maybe his ankles were too thin?

This is precisely what I was thinking. I've seen so much film on Simmons, there is NO WAY he drops - unless the people doing the 'evaluations' have some deep seeded agenda.

As soon as someone commits to PSU they drop, as soon as they eliminate PSU they rise. It is downright sickening.
