Have to give Narduzzi credit for one thing, they tend to get alot of turnover, return TD's that make the game more competitive than it appears. Pitt was down 31-7 at one point I believe, and made it a 10 point game within minutes. Maybe some of that has to do with the other team putting in subs, while Pitt rolls with the first team until the very end. They do appear strong in the 4th quarter. But then their D eventually does kind of wilt.
Well, he did throw those four picks with a certain je ne sais qua!

Those were great teams - only rivaled by the back to back Champions in 1382-83. You really saw Pitt come into its own as the Dark Ages were fading.
I thought their best team was the one that won the Stonehenge Bowl, if you ask me.

I paid attention to some Pitt games this year and all 4 games I watched the games were over in the first half. Pitt was boat raced and watched teams coast to victories! Pitt is very lucky to have beaten Syracuse and GT. GT would love a mulligan on their game, because they went away from what worked in the first half and ended up losing on a 57 yard field goal. Syracuse QB got knocked out with a targeting hit to the head and was never the same in their second half after dominating the first half....again a last second FG wins it for Pitt. That's the difference between 8-5 right now and 6-7. Keep in mind Pitt also played 2 teams who played with their second string qb(one in a monsoon) and won those games. Very easily could have been a 4-8 season if not for a few breaks. I did not see much improvement at Pitt. In fact, I seen a team regress and a coach who gets rattled and yells at the refs while looking foolish.
Just checking now that it is Tuesday... did Pitt still lose badly yesterday?

The last thing I would ever do as a fan is brag about championships I have never witnessed, especially if those titles/championships were in the prior to 1950. Pitt's "8th" National Championship was in 1937. If you were 11 when you witnessed it, you are now approaching 90 years old. I'd venture to guess that many of the Pitt fans that are on this site have never seen Pitt do anything other than be mediocre and only know Pitt was relevant briefly because their pap tells them.
Seriously. PSU is credited for one in 1911 (recognized along with Princeton) and I had forgotten about it until I just looked over the list. If you're talking post-1950 and you're an Alabama fan, you've got something to crow about.
Just FYI, Pitt sold out three allotments for the military bowl, and had at least 40 % of the attendance. Many things to criticize about the game, but Pitt fan support is not one of them.
