just for the record, I want referring to recruits, I was referring to coaches , other staff members.I don’t think we lose any recruits, they seem sold on Penn State and want to be Nittany Lions.

Coaches leaving for greener pastures is not unusual in any era, even under Paterno. For example, Dick Anderson left to take the Temple job and Caldwell left for Wake Forest.
I think Ganter stayed as long as he did because he was expecting Joe to retire soon and would get the HC position.
I think even Jay would have left if someone offered him a HC job at a P5 school.

PSUDominantAgain@PSUFootballBud 1m1 minute agoHe offered 4 coaches jobs to leave with him. Huff, Gattis, Limegrover & Spencer. Huff is only coach leaving to be come Co-OC. Supposedly has told Franklin he won't go after any recruits.
I've read where Andy Reid told his assistant coaches, that he would help them become HC's, but when they did, they had to find their own assistants, they couldnt take his!!that is not typical of a coordinator leaving to be HC. when HC moves to another HC job usually takes assts with him. not normal when coordinator does same.
You are right about Rutgers, my bad.Dick Anderson left to become HC at Rutgers, and then defeated PSU in 1988.
George Welsh left to be HC at Navy.
Ron Dickerson left to become DC at Clemson, then later HC at Temple.
