MSU Dual Discussion

Moss beat Gasca at the Scuffle, I think we have a legit question on who to go with at 141 at Big Ten's

The worst part is having to go through another year of Jimmy/Moss. Beitz at 149 would have been such an improvement. Can't fault Zain for doing what's best for him, though.

Beitz went out for senior night tonight....so for depth purposes consider his services complete would be my thoughts.

I seem to write this every match, but Nolf is simply destroying the competition. It is truly a thing to behold - his incredible skills on the mat. Worth the price of admission ten-fold (don't tell Sandy Barbour who I think I see sitting near Cael and Cody tonight).

What are you saying here, LemonPie? That Zain could have/should have gone at 141?

Not really. Purely hindsight. I was all for the move(s). I never could have imagined that Jimmy would be so awful. Zain is probably better off at 149.

We will need to fill four weights next year.... 125, 133, 141 and 197. I love that Jimmy came to Penn State but I just don't buy the injuries/weight management excuses. He looks small and sluggish when he wrestles anymore. I don't see a "go to" takedown, a ride or a pinning strategy. When he's on bottom he has his head on the mat and looks defeated. I don't want to be overly critical ( but I sure sound like it) but he is not wrestling like a guy that's been in the room for four years.

admission for practice between him and Zain would be a sell out!

Gulibon? In the match against MSU? I don't think so, not 3+ minutes.

Not that it matters though.

That's what Track Wrestling said. I have no idea if its correct which is why I put the ??? in, but Gasca did get the RT Point so I assume the RT-Adv of 3+ minutes they were showing for Gasca was correct.

I'm not sure Jimmy qualifies for the NCAA's which means he needs to place top 6, 7 or 8 at the Big's. I'm pretty confident Moss places high enough to qualify. Plus Moss could score bonus points in the Consi's. If Jimmy does win, it's only a decision. Everyone keeps saying Jimmy could get hot. I'm sorry, but he is getting worse. He was dominated by Cruz who is ranked 18th and by the MSU kid who isn't ranked. He looks lost out there.

Jimmy LOLibon

Not necessarily, could see JG back at 133

I'm a huge Jimmy fan and don't understand it... hoping it is something we don't know... but... he just seems so one dimensional... always shooting to his left, doesn't get much with his front headlock, and has a one dimension ride. That all could be confidence - leaning on his best stuff... but he is scouted pretty well and it shows. Tonight he was aggressive on his feet and gave up two shots to his demise. He had a good shot against VaTech to his right but got caught with the backtrip and lost that match in OT. Was that the last shot to his right? The good thing about all of this, If I'm seeing this you know the staff has as well. He can't be in any better hands!
I'm perplexed but here is to a two week rediscovery of his capabilities!!

Gino Morelli going at 65 per Ironhead.

Tonight a good example of why I prefer Moelli - goes into the 3rd Period in a tight match and pulls away in 3rd. Outcome was never in doubt after he escaped to start the 3rd Period - not only was it not in doubt but he pulled away diametric opposite of last night's 165 bout.

well, he was almost pinned... the match was pretty close going into the 3rd.... I think he can keep it close but wish he was a little more dynamic on offense...
