Clifford was too hyped up over threw a lot of players deep and open enough. Friermuth's near great catch was not even a 50-50 ball, it was more like a 10-90 ball and he nearly pulled it off.
The backs all contributed. as much as they could within the mind boggling limitations of the offensive play calling.
Give this QB, this OL, these backs and recievers some screens and counters and the big plays that CJF measures will come more often than when everything is straight up the field and down field.
I also doubt that Clifford is following his progressions as he should and hopefully will .... I think he relies a little too much on 2 receivers. It is his first year as a starter lest we forget.
