I can remember just about every play of each of these games. It's a great, great feeling. For those Eagles fans on this board, savor this victory, this great team accomplishment. It'll help you get through a whole host of dreary days in the future, believe you me.

You'll like this one Jim. I was at a sales meeting a few years ago. VP of our company.
He's pitching the it's important to be good every day speech. Not just one great day and
be satisfied with yourself. He asks us if anyone has an idea who Tim Smith is. Nobody
knows what the hell he's talking about. I raise my hand. Yup Super Bowl 22. Skins
RB great game against Broncos. Whenever we had a meeting and he was trying
to make his point, he'd always say anyone except Magoo know what I'm talkin here.:)

Its not just the the Eagles finally won, but also the team that they beat and the circumstances behind it. If the Eagles would have beaten the Jaguars instead I probably wouldn't have had quite the same feeling today as opposed to beating the evil empire. I'll relish them beating Brady and Belichick for the city's first SB for the rest of my life.

Oh, Magoo, you've done it again.

Ask him if he knows who Shelly Hammonds is. Or Chuck Penzenik. Or Aric Heffelfinger. That'll get him going.

Washington will never get close to another one with Dan Snyder in charge. I cannot even imagine how dysfunctional it must be to work in that organization

Sad they're in the bottom seven to win next year according to Vegas and the Alex Smith move was just....weird. I think the Browns may win one before Washington does again.

And now they're talking about franchising Cousins yet again so they can get something for him in a trade. Jerk franchise, nothing else to say about it.

Jeez. Can't get out of their own way.

Hammonds had Sayers-esque open-field moves. Still can’t believe the kid wanted to play db.☹️

LionJim, we are, and we will, savor every aspect of this victory. Your old stomping grounds are pretty crazy today.

Jim, you grew up in PA but are a Redskins fan? Did you convert to the Redskins when moving out of PA or were you always a Redskins fan?

Tim Smith should have realized that it's important to be a good running back every day.

I'm kidding. That game is in my mind like it was played yesterday. Smith was unstoppable. One of the great Super Bowl performances of all-time. :)

Always a Redskins fan, got it from my father, who graduated Georgetown. My extended family, both sides, are from Washington. (My grandfather played on the last Catholic University football team to beat Maryland, in 1915.)

NFC East first division with all teams winning a superbowl and 13 superbowl victories total

Division of Champions!

Someone mentioned this already -- it's sad if your a fan, but true...

An owner that gets in the way (like Jones and Snyder) will most likely prevent their team from having a chance at any future glory. Jerry Jones was lucky to have Jimmy Johnson bail him out. When you're a fan of one of these franchises, for as long as you can remember, you literally have to ride out these shitty owners, or just stop being a fan of a 'team' and instead adopt the concept of rooting for the 'game' and cheer on individual players and coaches instead of any one team. Sort of like rooting for SaQuan next year, and his team's success because (in part) of him.

But in order for your 'team's to be successful, you need good ownership, as it all starts from the top. As a lifelong Cowboys fan, wake me up when Jerry's time has expired.

I don't get the Alex Smith thing at all. Will they be paying him less than what Kirk would get?

Oh yeah. To franchise him would take around $34MM for just the one year from what I understand. Really screwed the pooch by not signing him long term when he wanted to sign. Once they started franchising him he had no incentive to take a reduced rate.

I'm in the same boat. Skins fan in an Eagles-dominated geography. Grew up loving Riggins, Art Monk, Russ Grimm, Jeff Bostic, Joe Jacoby, the hogs, etc. Used to always be able to hold the three titles over the heads of my Philly friends. I guess no longer

Lol. At one point Al Davis was a good football man.

Yes, but then, for decades, he became...Al Davis, the owner that demands Darius Hayward Bey be drafted #4 out of UMD when he clearly wasn't a 1st rounder, because he ran a 4.2
Al Davis wasn't capable of running the Raiders for a long time and Dan Snyder has never been capable of running the Skins.

As a philly fan in Northern VA, I can now proudly say that the Eagles and the Skins have 3 NFL League championships

they cant franchise him, because if they do, he is guaranteed $34 million when he signs, weather he plays or not!! So who would take on that contract? and why on earth would he not run to sign it??

I know it's not unusual for folks in the York and Lancaster areas to be Skins fans.... Orioles too.

The Harrisburg area has a decent amount of Redskin fans as well. Washington used to hold training camp at Dickinson College in Carlisle until around 1994 (IIRC).

Thought I remembered that they trained in PA.... Thanks for the update.
