As noted in the link posted below, the NCAA upheld various sanctions against the University of Louisville basketball program that were imposed as a result of the "stripper problem" the Cardinals had. The sanctions include vacating 123 wins betweeh 2011 and 2015, including the Cardinals' 2013 National Championship and their 2012 Final Four appearance. They now have to take down their 2013 banner and return the trophy(ies).

This news prompts me to yawn.

1. The retroactive vacating of victories is a remarkably ineffectual and empty gesture. You can't rewrite what happened on the field or the court. So now there's no 2013 National Champion. The scenes we recall of the Cardinals raising the trophy and cutting down the nets didn't happen. Awesome. I'm sorry, but Joe won 409 games no matter WHAT those morons at the NCAA may think or do, and that has always been the case..

2. After the NCAA's disastrous handling of the Sandusky fiasco and the indulgence it granted to the University of North Carolina, the NCAA has zero credibility. at least with me. (If it's possible, I would say the NCAA has negative credibility.)

3. I would relish the spectacle of some powerful athletic universities telling the NCAA to take a hike. If it goes down, perhaps a successor institution that is more appropriately tasked and better managed will take its place.
