Hey, @backdrft76 , maybe we can petition the Board of Directors to take up a resolution to add a new reaction emoji to the Rivals menu — one for “Slovenly Post”
I was on the fence about whether to start a new thread when I started posting about it yesterday, and made the wrong choice. The event was already being discussed on the default thread so I just continued there. I think I have a natural bias against starting new threads from the blind rage I feel when someone posts a single link with the subject title "How about this?" and so on. But Nolf deserves better from us.
Agreed. Some of the topics generated in the Twitter/Why Great thread are definitely worthy of their own thread. Topics such as Nolf, ideas about possible Rules Changes, maybe have a season long Ducking thread, etc. The ensuing discussion related to the topic seems to not only get lost in the Twitter thread, but also adds too much (imo) to that thread.
Yeah, sometimes we cannot accurately predict what kind of discussion or “continuing coverage” a post will spark. Sometimes I start something I doubt I’ll be able to engage with much further, only to find that circumstances change…
And you added to the other forum!
I doubt many people read the other forum (BWI) and not this one (NN). So, I don’t know who benefits from posts duplicated from this forum to that forum.
[edit: I guess there is a theoretical benefit. We get to compare the forums head to head, somewhat. But if there’s already a discussion here, the other forum will have a disadvantage in generating responses.]
