Northeast Regional 3A

Fenstermacher beating Hoffman is a mild upset, but not terribly surprising. What this does is add quite a bit of intrigue to the brackets at Hershey. For example, could Hoffman and Trampe now face off in the semis or quarters? Or will they still be separated until the finals?

Sheesh Jefe, that's a good point. I hate to answer a question with a question, but you seem to have a solid grip on the scene. Are there any other weights with seeding intrigue after regionals? I'd lean to keeping Hoffman and Trampe separated still. Great time of year, excited for next weekend

I haven't really looked at results other than NE AA and now NE AAA. Scanning 132 brackets now ...

Unfortunately, there's no "lean to keeping them separated." PIAA will rank the regional champs 1-5 AAA and 1-4 AA. After that, it'll be a random pre-drawn bracket. Fenstermacher and Hoffman will be separated, but after that is anyone's guess.

I have no idea of the criteria PIAA will use to rank the regional champs. IMO it should be 1 Manley (Altoona), 2 Trampe, 3 Long (Cumberland Valley), 4 Fenstermacher, 5 Morris (Waynesburg). Because PIAA, the only one of those I'm confident in is Morris being 5th.

If that holds, then Hoffman and Trampe will be same side and could meet in the quarters or semis.

Regardless, this is an insane wieght. Four of the regional champs + Hoffman all have 2 losses or fewer. And that doesn't include SC runner-up Wert, who beat Morris and Fenstermacher and took 3rd at Beast of the East.

So far 5 D1 commits: Manley (VT), Trampe (Binghamton), Long (Navy), Fenstermacher (sPitt), Hoffman (Lehigh). Morris and Wert are juniors and will likely be D1 commits next year.
