Nothing Encouraging in Pittsburgh

Kasak is elite. He will be similar to Levi when they bring him out. He is a stud with great character. Nasedo is a room guy at best and Davis is over rated. Not great character. He was gassed. Kilkreary won a boring match on an illegal cut back but regardless it was a bad match

  • Kasak will be similar to Haines? As in a B1G champ and NCAA finalist as a true freshman? That's a big ask.
  • Kasak has great character, but Davis has "not great" character? Any basis for this whatsoever?

lol never seen that one before
Really? Cause the OP claims it is “well known”.

But let me fill you in on the details as I understand them:

During the 19-17 dual meet won by Iowa in CHA on 1/31/2020, Cael “cornered” Spencer in a hallway and tried to get him to transfer.

One might wonder what Spencer was doing alone and away from his team before, during or after the dual in which he tech’d Meredith and Iowa squeaked by PSU by two points, largely on the strength of Kemerer’s win over Hall.

One might also wonder why Cael would leave his team before, during or after a tightly contested dual meet.

One might wonder how the two of them found themselves alone in sold-out CHA.

One might wonder how this didn’t get reported, investigated and penalized.

Or one might just “like” the post and accept it as factual.

We can't expect @js8793 to remember all the inanities over there. We have a 35 page thread that barely scratches the surface.

Highly unlikely, yet if he had spent his senior year at NLWC,it wouldnt sound so outlandish.

Davis' parents didn't have the character to move to Eastern PA and have their son train with the Harer's. ;)

Lets check back in 5 years and discuss. All of them will be on different levels then.
Seriously someone should start a thread like that. That would be awesome to see how much improved wrestlers can be and if Cael can actually coach lmfao.

I certainly do not expect Kasak to take 2nd as a true or even redshirt freshman. But I agree with you that he will be very very good. He has high AA/champ potential for sure.

In reading the most recent threads on HR, it is refreshing to see that at least a few of the crazies over there are starting to acknowledge that Carl is a master coach and outsmarts the Brands regularly. Most of them are still clinging to the delusion that all it takes to win is $$$$ and that is why Carl gets lucky every single year. And I can understand how admitting anything other than that is a bit of a blow to their egos, but to their credit, it seems like a few of them are starting to come around. They are acknowledging that hand fighting and push outs don’t win championships.

Davis and Nasdeo are not high level recruits imo. Kasak is solid, but not elite. Barr is elite, but wrestled the best wrestler at the event. No reason to be concerned, that’s for sure.
This is Penn State. We have to dig deep to find things to be concerned about. LOL.

He didn’t lose - he tied with Chris Bono. He made it a point to go to the HS National tournament to get a rematch but I don’t think Bono was there. They are good friends now and actually laugh about the whole thing.
Was just getting ready to reply..I attended that match and recall him either getting the tie or winning by a point but the thing I recall is mostly that, in that match, I thought Carey got 'the benefit' of some home cooking in the referring of the match, just to get the tie. From reading about the Pittsburg Classic yesterday, it sounds as if Kilkernay got 'the benefit' of some PA home cooking in his match with Davies.

For those who envision Kasak doing big things, at what weight do you see that?
You never know, but SVN sure looks like a career 149 guy to me.

Not only will Kasak be great but we will also get the benefit of awesome walk out music and dance.
