We drove part of the Scenic Byway but did not get to the top of the mountain.Maybe I missed it, but did you get up to Mt Lemon? That was one of our highlights when visiting the Tucson area. The drive up there is spectacular!

So, fair, I happen to be in Tucson now - flew in today for a sales meeting. A lot cooler than I expected.
Westin PalomaHopefully you're at Loew's Ventana Canyon....had a sales conference there years ago, a great place!
Indeed. There are actual clouds in the sky! The front came in last night. It was very warm at the Sonoran Desert Museum yesterday. Our home base is 28 miles away from you in Oracle, Arizona. So, fair, I happen to be in Tucson now - flew in today for a sales meeting. A lot cooler than I expected.
SPECIAL DAY FOR THE GAMBITS
Today, May 7th, is the 51st Anniversary of our 1st date. I remember this date every year because it was the start of my lifelong journey with the love of my life. We will celebrate in style tonight.
Thanks. I will pass that on to my wife.Just remember when you play strip poker tonight: the more you lose, the more you have to show for it!
(CONGRATS!)
Back in Vegas. 400+ miles from Tucson in 7 hours with 45 minutes of stops for food/bathroom, and 15 minute delay for construction to move I Beam. Actual speed while driving was about 70mph. Not bad.
Still not sure if we will fly out tonight or wait till tomorrow. Go Pens!
You hitting the buffet at the Excalibur? Huzzah!!.SPECIAL DAY FOR THE GAMBITS

I'm not sure what we're doing. I'm encouraging ordering Pizza because I am "tired from driving", but it's really so I can watch the Pens. You hitting the buffet at the Excalibur? Huzzah!!.
How many leaks did you take over 400 miles? 5-6? Could have done it an hour faster if you'd worn your Dependz.Back in Vegas. 400+ miles from Tucson in 7 hours with 45 minutes of stops for food/bathroom, and 15 minute delay for construction to move I Beam. The 45 min was primarily food (30min). There was 15 min bathroom stop but that was at a gas station with a single pot for women and 6 in line. How many leaks did you take over 400 miles? 5-6? Could have done it an hour faster if you'd worn your Dependz.
A pot? You are old. Did you bring a Spiegel's catalog for emergency # 2s?The 45 min was primarily food (30min). There was 15 min bathroom stop but that was at a gas station with a single pot for women and 6 in line.
My wife says, at this gas station, a "pot" is descriptive.A pot? You are old. Did you bring a Spiegel's catalog for emergency # 2s?

It was a great trip but I woke up in Tucson yesterday at 5:30 AM (8:30 in Pittsburgh) and I have now been up for over 24 straight hours, something I haven't done in 40 years. We drove 7 hours to Las Vegas, spent some final time with the wife's family, and then flew home on a Frontier Airlines Flight that left Vegas at 11:21 PM (PDT) and landed in Pittsburgh at 6:15 AM (EDT), less than 4 hours later. My wife headed off to sleep and I headed to my office to get some work done. I don't think I'll last past lunch but we'll see. Later today, or perhaps tomorrow or Wednesday I'll post some final thoughts about my trip.
Whoa, Thanks. I fixed it.Jet lag 101 - tomorrow IS Wednesday!
Nice to know you and Ms. Fair had a wonderful time and returned home safely. The Pope and I welcome you home. The Gambits have just touched down in Pittsburgh after flying through the night. HOME! Some final thoughts later.

Not sure of Pope Francis's hand gesture. My guess it's his love to the world's people, or expelling the demons from man. Of course if you're a Texan...hook'em horns.
From a previous post:Gee step, I didn't know you had Papal connections. I am impressed.
Great picture john. Thanks!Welcome home FairG. Thanks for sharing your travel exploits.
Great picture john. Thanks!
Actually, even as I post this, I am drafting my final thoughts. As a sneak preview, I really enjoyed Tucson, much more so than Las Vegas.Fairgambit, don't know if I missed it but what were your final thoughts on the trip?
What did you think of Tucson?
From a previous post:
My grandparents were convinced I was going to enter the Seminary. Two things I learned in 9th grade that changed that particular course of education........
1: Latin
2: I also learned that girls were beautiful creatures, not the bull crap the nuns were pushing.
