I hesitated to start this thread as I am sure everyone wants to savor the sweet feeling of totally destroying Pitt this past Saturday night a bit longer. Admittedly, I'm still smiling as I read about Pittsburgh radio hosts complaining about Franklin; thinking about the post-game press conference; and thinking about the beautiful pass Clifford threw to Polk to put the exclamation point on the absolute romp but alas, time marches on and we do hav another game this upcoming Saturday.
Not a whole lot to evaluate here other than the fact that we're 35 point favorites and despite being 2-0, I still don't think we've played a complete, solid, game just yet. Sure, beating Pitt 51-6 is awesome but let's be honest, with about 2 minutes to go in the first half, leading by just 1, folks were feeling a bit uneasy. The total domination that ensued was great but I'd imagine all of us would like to see that "60 minutes of pure domination" from our team and I think we're going to see it this Saturday.
I see the defense doing a bit better as they'll dominate throughout; I think McSorley will have a very good game; I think the receivers will do something different this week- hold on to the ball; and I think we win easily, by more than 35, 56-10. I'm not even sure Kent St. will score 10 but I'll give them a few points against our 3rd teamers- but don't be surprised if it's a shutout.
