Texans leading 38-34, first down at their 20 at the 2:00 mark. Run on first, second and third downs, second and third right up the middle, fail to get a first down. Seahawks stop the clock with their three timeouts.

After huge punt / short return Seahawks start on their own 20 with about 1:30 left. Three plays, three completions, 80 yards, touchdown Seahawks. The touchdown was from about the 25 yard line, no one covered the tight end going right down the middle.

Final: 38-41

Scary how similar the ending of this game was to yesterday. History does repeat itself.

Enough already.

I wasn’t even watching the game, it extended over into my recording of, ironically, 60 Minutes. The chances of the same shit happening to O’Brien the day after happening to Franklin, well, incredibly small. And the score almost identical?

It’s like one of Mack Daddy’s many identities is messing with us.

OB never took his foot off the gas though or had a 18 point lead.

I never saw any of the game except for the last 4:00 minutes or so.....I think they said it had something like 4 ties and 5 lead changes, so you are right, the first 58 minutes were nothing like yesterday. But the final 2 minutes sure were!

Other than the series when they were backed up to their own end zone, in the last quarter PSU ran 13 plays and 9 of them were passes....how is that taking their foot off the gas?

Wait a minute. Are you trying to tell me that a football team with a lead late in the game tried to use up more clock by running the ball? I don't know if I've seen a team do that EVER.

That is scary stuff there.

And as Rocky said to Bullwinkle, “But that trick NEVER works!”

Other than that, how was the play Mrs. Lincoln?

Nope. Just looked up the play by play. In the 4th quarter other than the 4 passes in the last series PSU had 10 runs and 6 passes.

I'm sorry did we not watch the same game?

The plays were terrible, but the game was worse. Get your facts straight. I saw 3 runs alone on goal to go after we passed our way right down the field to set up our FG. Then I saw 3 more runs after OSU scored. Midnight posted the game script.

Not sure why you are sending that to me.

My post said other than the series where they were backed up on their own goal line. I also included the last series. So without those two series, it was 5 passes and 6 runs....pretty balanced and hardly turtling up.

I guess you think you’re making some profound point. You’re not.

On the drive that started with 11 mins left, we threw several passes and effectively moved the ball to first and goal at the 7, despite being doomed with no time to throw, etc. From that point on we ran 3 straight times and settled for a FG and then 3 more straight times when we got the ball back at our own 15 after OSU had just gone straight down the field in a minute. Why you would remove that series from your analysis is beyond me. It, along with the goal line series and the series after the fumble, was one of the most important series in the game. In those 3 series we threw 1 pass, despite not being able to effectively run the ball the whole game. It was all made worse by significant losses on first down on two of those series attempting that extremely frustrating RPO in a phone booth play.

No calls for firing anyone here. I’m beyond extremely happy with Franklin. Just a mildly frustrated fan expressing an opinion on a college football message board. Crazy concept isn’t it?

I left that series out for the same reason you left out the last series....when you're backed up late in the game with a lead, every coach would run to avoid a pick 6 or a pick in FG territory. I understand being frustrated, but if you have faith in Franklin, then you need to have faith that he does actually know more than a poster on this message board. I'm sure he would like to go back and do some things differently, but it's easy to second guess after the fact. I just don't see the value in bashing a coach after a loss...I'm not sure it does anything but give the detractors and haters more ammunition to use against Franklin.

Who's bashing the coaches? I'm very happy with this staff. Criticizing calling the same play that hasn't worked all game is not bashing the coaches.

Many on here were bashing the coaches...maybe not you but many others. I just hate seeing that crap because people think they're experts because they watch games.

Agree. There were several fire coaches posts that i disagree with also.
I'm moving on, beat MSU.

I’m sure he would do some things differently as well. He said as much. I left out the last series because we were finally behind then with minimal time left so of course we had to pass. Let’s agree to disagree.

That's odd, I always recall FLO's teams having stellar defenses.
