There are quite a few new releases scheduled for this month, some by major acts. Please use this thread to add your favorite new releases.

To start off, I present to you a more obsure album that is scheduled for official release this weekend: Doom Side of the Moon. It is billed as a heavy metal celebration of Dark Side of the Moon. It already has some great reviews on metal websites. Example: https://skullsnbones.com/doom-side-moon-doom-album-review/

A sample of the light show that is envisioned is shown on the link to the video for Money at that link. A similar video for Time is also available on youtube. I do not know about the other singles yet. The full album was put up on youtube yesterday. It seems faithful to the original.

My nephew, Joe, has the keyboard credit for this album. Like many musicians based in Austin, he is involved in several different projects simultaneously. His main gig at the moment is playing keyboards and squeeze box for what I guess you might call a C/W-swing band called Croy and the Boys which is set to have a small western tour later this month. He also recently played keyboards for another band (name escapes me atm) that recorded an album in Memphis last month. He and his two brothers also play in a bar band that occasionally plays around town, called Cartright.

Album release party is at Elmos in Austin on 8/5. I do not know if a tour is currently scheduled, but I imagine there will be one.

Here is the full album, brand spanking new:

Some things are missing from this version. Great Gig vocals, for example. (Maybe lacked the voice for it.) Not sure if this is an accurate rendition of the full product. Joe has not linked to it. I found it myself. I am going to have to find out more from him.

Is your nephew playing live with the tour?
IF they tour, I believe he will. No word on that yet. However, a facebook post today by the sax player said: "There will be more."

I am guessing that they, up until now, only hoped that this one show and the album release would generate enough notice to allow them to shoulder the logistics of a tour. I have a feeling that the results are positive enough for them to go ahead with that. The fact that they are calling it a project leads me to think that.

The crowd sure seemed enthusiastic, and it seems like there were quite a few music people on hand. IDK enuff to say for sure. Biggest show in Austin on a Saturday night says something.
