Supposedly it acts as a "grammar nanny," plus acting as a thesaurus, etc. Just wondering what peoples experience with it has been. Since it's free(supposedly), price shouldn't be problem, and I figure it can be deleted or removed if it doesn't measure up to expectation.
What say others who installed and use it?

So, this program gets access to everything you write to see if you are making grammar errors? No thanks, I don’t need some Nigerian prince to correct my work.

Yes, it does. It uploads the content of what you are writing to their cloud and it does its thing in the cloud. You don’t download a software program. Some contractors who were doing work for the federal government thought it would be a good idea to use Grammarly to write their reports. It proved to be a colossally bad idea.

My impression is that most schools do not teach much grammar and virtually nothing re cursive.
I had to read a grad school paper and stopped because the grammar was so poor ( not hiring you).

Forget the software - just ask this board.

Well, why? Maybe the answer is staring me in the face but at this early hour I’m not seeing it.

Because when using Grammarly whatever you write is stored on their servers, where you have no control over it. If Grammarly is hacked, there goes your data. I haven’t read the terms of use, but if you’re using Grammarly they can probably use your data for research, sell it to other companies, etc. You’re entrusting the content of everything you write to Grammarly - just handing it over to them for some suggestions about sentence structure, etc.
