Looking to have a custom frame for Penn State Hockey poster I bought for my son. Yes I know they sell the poster already framed.

I need it custom made because I also want to encase three hockey pucks, as well as the poster, in the frame. One is the opening night Pegula puck, the other is just a normal Penn State puck, and the last one is a Big Ten logo puck.

If you know of a framing website that would do this please reply.

Thanks in advance.

Prepare to spend a lot of money. Think of this as something he will want to keep forever. It's going to be a very large/heavy item that he is going take up lots of wall space and is going to be hard to hang. Heaven forbid he moves locations a few times, or his wife hates it. Consider getting a smaller photo framed with the pucks, maybe a picture of the two of you at the arena. Something that is more meaningful and of a more manageable size. Or ignore everything I said, either way... Best of Luck!

Every time I look at this post I expect to see "Ranger Dan" and yet it says OmniscientFan.

There is a large framing department at Michaels or other craft stores. I would start there.

Every picture, poster and/or portrait that hangs in our home was done by Michaels. My wife takes all that type of thing there. Two things - they are not cheap, but their work is very good (IMHO).

Make the frame yourself out of old hockey sticks.

I would love to suggest that you use a local framed vs a box shop. Whether that’s my local shop or someone else’s. We are often very competitive with pricing and our personalized service is quite simply better.

The options fit your project are endless. Would love to help if your in the State College / central Pa area.

Thanks again

Wow that will be expensive.
At that point its more like a Shadow box than a frame.

I would highly recommend John, his work is outstanding and he has been extremely helpful to me over the years when I was learning to frame. BTW, here's something I did a few years back that John hasn't seen ( I built the frame starting with rough lumber and did a lacewood inlay)

I like Michaels, also. For a custom project, I recommend discussing exactly how you want it done face-to-face with a specialist. They can offer suggestions you overlooked. Once you settle on materials and the frame, they can show you a digitally generated mockup. That allows you to make appropriate changes. I doubt you can do that through a website -- certainly not as personal. It will be expensive, but they do have specials periodically.

I just ordered three 27”x40” movie poster frames for my theatre room. I wanted something nicer than the plastic frames found at Michaels but didn’t want to spend $250+ for custom wood frames. Im very happy with what I found at this site.

I think fairgambit industries could work something out for you that is both poorly crafted and overly priced.

Thanks anyone. Going with Michaels (which I never heard of before this post but found out is right up the street).

If you go to michaels always make sure they’re running a sale or you’ve got a coupon (you should be able to find one or the other in effect nearly 365 days a year if you plan ahead). Can save you a lot.

So how much is it costing you (approximately)? Did you compare it to the local framing company?

Just curious.
