The vehicle was likely a 'push to start' configuration. And being that Kenny did go to Pitt, he probably figured he didn't need a key but rather some of the workers at Bowser would assist him in getting his vehicle to start.
On a somewhat more serious note, one doesn't need to run to Kinko's to make a copy of the playbook that he left in the car. Anyone with a smart phone could quickly replicate this document in HD.
