I enjoyed the Paterno Legacy lager from Duquesne Brewery in 2015. I was not able to get 2016 Light version in the Philly area last year. Does anyone know if Duquesne plans to make another Paterno beer this year?

The beer was decent, I'd drink it again. I did like the can.

I'm with ya. It is drinkable, far better than anything Budweiser offers (imo), and on par with some of the mid-major beers that I've had over the years. Most who try it are ok with it, and some are pleasantly surprised that it is as good as it is. Faint praise, but there are many skeptics.

I keep mostly Yuengling / Y.Light, Blue Moon, Miller Lite in my fridge and like all of those very much... so the beer bar is not way high for me. When I'm out, a draft. At home or hosting a tailgate, in bottles.

The 409 is not my fave beer by any stretch, and I'm not an 'in the can' person myself (oh my!), but it's fun to have and offer at tailgates. We stock plenty of blue plastic cups for this and other purposes!

All that said, I don't know if it will be out again this year.

I have been buying it on a regular basis at my beer distributor in Mt. Lebanon. They have been able to order it thus far.

I didn't see it last year, I was hoping to get a can to save. The beer is absolute swill but the can is cool.

It was slightly above crappy beer. Solid tailgating beer though. I've got one unopened can for the Penn State shelf.

Hey Lebo, did you go to MTL High School? If so, what was your grad year?

It was out in both 2015 and 2016 in a very plentiful supply in the Pittsburgh area.

There is nothing better that a good beer snob thread......I can never get enough of true professionals telling me what real flavor is.
true, but so far there has been no beer snobbery in this thread, so I'll start it ....
the Paterno beer is like drinking piss, I only drink Pliny the Elder (and only less than 21 day old PtE)

Someone at our tailgate mentioned a JoePa 409 wheat beer was in the works for 2017 but I haven't see it yet

The current offering is pretty crappy tasting but I forced it down to Honor Joe and to spite the BoT

Ha, Elder is so 2011. Now maybe if it was Younger, we might be impressed.
