WHAT! How come the movie One on One ain't mentioned! Holy crap!! Robby Benson as Henry Steele!!! "Coach, all the way up. With a red hot poker. I can play anywhere I want!" All those others are fighting for 2nd place!!

Loved The Great Santini, authored by Pat Conroy.. had basketball involved tangentially but another book by Conroy, My Losing Season, was a great basketball read which would make a good movie. I liked Hoosiers too, but I like all the underdog movies, Rudy, Rocky, Bad News Bears, Seabiscuit, the whole nine.

One on One was pretty good when I was a kid when it first came out. Like a lot of movies I thought were good back then, they don't always translate to good movies when you have a few years under your belt. I'll go with Hoosiers. White Men was funny though and worth seeing.

How about One On One? Basketball Diaries?
Amen to One on One with Annette O'Toole.:)

Santini is a good movie , If you like Hoosiers and underdog movies even if not basketball related you have to like Breaking Away

Hoosiers... and this is hands down my favorite scene...

That is good but I love the scene with Barbara Hershey's mom when she says '' The sun don't shine on the same dog's ass everyday but You haven't seen a ray .......Ok i cant remember exact finish but you know the line , And also when she jumps up'' I think we should vote again''
