OT: So your Facebook friend posts 24 individual posts over a 4 day vacation.

Facebooks is for old farts, the youthful prefer instagram, so younger folks tell me. I’ve never been a social media guy. Just don’t find the concept interesting at all. If you’re into it, good on ya
IG is old. Snap Chat is the current platform

This, plus Facebook is used as a method of journaling for some people.
Very true, say we’re at a family gathering , people talk about different things . I have a cousin who’s a gymnastic mom and is annoying with it. Another is a hockey mom and I find that more interesting.
So I do the polite thing but maybe talk more to the hockey mom about hockey.
Simple solution. Now with Facebook it’s easier . Personally I like pictures of vacations . Some are crap, but some are interesting. For example I have a friend who lives in Japan who vacations around the pacific region. I love those pictures .
Disney? Meh, lol.

You can make one post at the end with all of the photos, fwiw. Maybe post a couple pictures as single posts during it, for special occasions, but the majority can be together in one post and as 1 album... it makes journaling easier when they are stuck together as a full album, instead of a bunch of single, separate posts

You can post separately--but into a single album. It's often tough to upload a large (more than 10) number of pix at once.

I get you've been married 30 some years and don't get away, but reallly?

This is one of the most ironic threads ever...A bunch of grown ass men complaining about social media, who spend their entire damn life posting about football and other mundane details of their life on...wait for it...a college football social media site.

I don’t get the whole social media thing in general. It seems to just make people complain about what they see their “friends” post.

o_O You do realize that you average over 2 posts to this social media site, every single day since you joined over 6 years ago?

Facebook has gone to shit over the years. It was never anything special, but once people started sharing their political opinions and getting argumentative, I started unfollowing or blocking some. Over the course of a year of unfollowing people and websites that I didn't care for, my entire feed became just music and video gaming news plus the occasional post from a family member. I personally like documenting my travels with Facebook though, but I will post one album with all my photos usually at once after all is said and done. Posting non stop during your trip is pretty annoying and makes me feel like you aren't actually enjoying your trip if you have to live on facebook during it.

Yes sir.

Social Media
Websites and applications that enable users to create and share content or to participate in social networking.
I’ve thought about this. I think the difference is between some character named “heckmans” saying something and somebody I know named Joe Smith saying something. While it may all be classified as social media, one style (Instagram, Facebook, etc...) is personalized while sites like this are generally faceless.
