Not only did the Cowboys play a 1p.m. home game yesterday, their Thursday opponent, my Redskins, didn't finish their game until midnight. I'm resigned to the Dallas Thanksgiving game tradition, but the NFL should at least admit that it's a huge advantage for Dallas, and schedule accordingly.

Rant over. Carry on.

It doesn't matter to me. Once Barry Sanders quit and eliminated the chance to watch him wow on Thanksgiving, my excitement level for NFL Thanksgiving games significantly waned!

The same could be said for Detroit but they always suck. Detroit and Dallas became Thanksgiving traditions because back in the day they were the only two teams willing to host games on that day.

Actually, this will be the first year in the last 24 where each team playing Thursday will have a winning record.

People often note that Dallas has had an unfair advantage over the years playing home each thanksgiving, but somehow it doesn't seem to help the Detroit lions any.

I agree about the Sunday night before thanksgiving problem you point out. Two years ago cowboys played at the giants Sunday night (a win), then played thanksgiving day (I think against the eagles) and had their worst performance of that season.

This year, the NFL has the cowboys playing consecutive Thursdays, for what that's worth.

I agree, the NFL should figure a way for the 'away' teams on Thanksgiving to play home games the week before that are 1PM local starts. Cannot be that hard to figure out.

Just to take a few of us old heads back to yesteryear.
Not cool. The worst Thanksgiving ever. It was my Dad's birthday and he was a bigger 'Skins fan than me. We made the mistake of having the dinner after the game and I still vividly remember us all watching in silence as he savagely ripped the turkey into a million pieces. I have a few cousins over this Thursday (being a Redskins fan is a family affair) and they'll be safely out of the house come kickoff.

How do Skins fans think about Shanahan right about now? My impression was that Snyder made him draft RG3 and Shanahan said, fine, but I'm taking another QB for when he gets hurt. Shanahan looking pretty damn smart right about now, as Cousins was clearly the better pick.

Snyder has a real GM now and seems to have tamped down his inner Jerry Jones.
