Here's the best view I've seen so far:

looked very similar to his block on IGGY in the NBA finals:

bucket would have put the Pacers up 2, but LBJ also hit an incredible 3 at the buzzer to win, so . . .

Not even close if Victor finishes with his left hand while keeping his body between LBJ & the ball. I think he put it on the backboard first, but at the speed the game moves, impossible to fault the officials. I think it was just an average finish and a spectacular recovery by LBJ.

Good take, not something I would ordinarily notice.

James had a bad TO that should have cost the Cavs the game. Instead he blocks Oladipo's shot and then comes down and hits the game winning shot with no time left on the clock. Literally went from goat to hero in the matter of about 10 seconds.

I thought it was goaltending if the defender hits the ball after the ball has hit the backboard. And that ball pretty hit the backboard before LJ touched it. No?

Seemed that way to me. But like the guy said, bang-bang call. I guess his game winner would have been that much more special.

It is close and I am OK with the call going either way. In BBall, calls are missed all the time. In the play before, according to ESPN's talking heads, they missed an OOB call that would have given the Cavs the ball (this is what gave Indy possession for that possible goaltending call). Indy also had a foul to give with the Cavs inbounding with 3 seconds left. Why not foul? At the same time, how can you not double LBJ or play tighter D at that time?

A call may have been missed by Indy doesn't have anyone to blame. But hey, Indy has played well. They have a home game, then game 7 back in CLE (if needed). The series is far from over.

I'm guessing you mean goat as in bad not greatest of all time? Geez he had 42 pts, 10 rebounds, 8 assists, 2 steals and a block. I don't think even with that TO he would have been a "goat". But then in full disclosure I am a LeBron fan.

Yes, it most certainly was a goaltend.

However, I don't think the Cav's offensive strategy on that last shot would have been any different

was absolutely goaltending

but he still hit a 3 to win, so they just would have won by 1 point instead of 3

Goaltending or not, it’s really been an entertaining series to watch.

Some good play, some very poor play by both teams. But fun to watch.

There would be scenario of Pacers up 2 w goal tend you dont let them shoot a 3 or at least using that foul to give is a safer bet in case they got a shot off and it was called a shooting foul. Lebron gets away with so much its sickening

Does instant replay apply there? If so it would have been a no brainer absolute 100% goaltending.

I had heard about this goaltend before I saw the play cuz I didn’t watch the game. The first time I saw it at live speed (the only speed officials get to see), I was like, ‘that’s what everyone is complaining about?’ At live speed, I didn’t see a goaltend. It’s only at slomo, where you can see it hit board first. The two outside officials who could make that call weren’t gonna see that in such a bang bang moment. It’s easy for the NBA to sit in their offices after the fact and admit it was missed but I challenge them (even if there are ex-officials making that admission) to stand on the floor and get that call right.

IR would be really tough to call on that blown goaltending. there were 3 seconds left. Cavs got the rebound. You'd have been giving them a free timeout. (Cavs called timeout anyway)

really, the two blown calls cancelled eachother out.

The Mayor of Indianapolis just this morning proclaimed / passed a resolution that the City of Indy would include a “No Goaltending Zone” tonight!

Pretty funny!
