OT: Wyoming Area v. Southern Columbia

I see that the game these two schools scheduled for next Friday is now cancelled because of “backlash” against Southern Columbia in the form of sanctions from the Heartland Conference against the football program and the athletic department as a whole. If true, that seems pretty ridiculous for two teams looking for a more competitive game and both original opponents for each team agreed to the switch. Anyone have any insight?
