Other Games on Championship Saturday

Gotta love Fowler and Palmer whining nonstop about the possibility that Alabama might not make it into the playoffs.... while calling the BIG 12 championship.

Literally just said it's not fair that each of the conference power 4 get a first round bye, should only be guaranteed a spot. Strength of schedule should matter more, different losses mean different things, crying about Clemson.

I really think they believe all four bye spots should go to SEC teams.

They don't think it should all go to the SEC--they believe the SEC/Big Ten and ND which most unbiased people will acknowledge
It's beyond stupid that ASU and Boise State might get a bye

I heard that too and seemed ridiculous and insulting to the fans of the teams playing in the game who were surely watching.

Here we go. 2nd biggest game of the day. Can Texas counterpunch today? They lost the first fight on points with essentially multiple knockdown early.

Which UGA shows up?
I think we get the best version of Georgia but kind of rooting for Texas--think that's safer for us

Dogs DL looking stout early. Difference in this turnover is Texas moved the ball already and it turns into a bad punt change of possession.

Feel bad for the UGA CB. Reminds me of Cam Miller vs Ole Miss. Beat by ball placement or timing.

Texas leading 3-0, moving again.

Now they are successful on both.

On that long pass there the Georgia coach was practically involved in the play he was so far in the white sideline paint.

Yelling and waving his arms.

Surprised that wasnt a penalty.

He gets away with it primarily because he acts like every play against him is a penalty. Could be his old Dawg coming out of him.

They ended up highlighting it on TV.

Still not sure how acceptable that should be to have to have the opposing coach yelling at you while on the field as you try to catch the ball.

Refs seem to be against Texas. Ghost roughing the passer. Keep getting called for holding. Etc.

Also ghost holding call on the long gain and facemask. Refs have bailed GA out at least twice so far.

I like what I'm seeing from Texas so far on both sides of the ball. This is the issue with playing a team for a second time in the CCG after beating them in the regular season. The loser gets an emotional advantage...plus you saw what worked and didn't work...and can adjust accordingly from the first game.

The officiating could be a wild card. To me it seems like there've been a couple shaky holding calls on the Longhorns.

All in all, for us I think it would be better for Texas to win this game. But for the SEC, better for Georgia to win. Might want to keep that in mind as we watch how this game is being called.

UGA, with its top 3 recruiting and multiple portal players brought in, still doesn't have trustworthy WRs. They are fast, they get open, but they don't catch.

Bothers me that 90% of the posts and tweets lead with “if we lose”.

1. We are an underdog.
2. If we win, the result of this game is mostly irrelevant. 1 or 2 has less advantages than being 5/6 or 7/8. Hence, if we lose commentary, at least from my perspective.

I think a bye week is a pretty significant advantage. And all the if we lose talk is a loser’s mentality, IMO. I get that we are just fans, but I hope that’s not the mentality anywhere within the program or anyone close to it.

Another phantom holding call to cripple a Texas drive.

It is if we win.

I don't think any of our discussion here is relevant to the teams mentality. I prefer to talk about matchups, advantages, mismatches, data, etc.

I think we could win, but I acknowledge it's going to be tough.

God I'm sick of hearing 'Eyes of Texas'. Talk about all the livelong day. Give it a rest. Worst fight song after Oklahoma's.

Beck taking another shot to his throwing arm, 2nd week in a row. Smart called it hand, replay looks like entire arm probably hurting pretty bad now.

Sark calling out the refs. Abrupt shift by ESPiN.
