Palm now says.....

Considering that Memphis might be without a head coach, Franklin might have a chance to outcoach the opposing “interim”

Ouch

I watched some of the AAC title game today and Memphis looked like they've got a very good team of athletes, regardless who might be coaching them. They won't be a pushover.

Penn State doesn't have a prayer in any bowl if the coaches are on the trip.

With so many guys committed to coming back, I would expect a spirited effort in the bowl game no matter who they play as opposed to last season.

I expect no matter who Memphis plays, that they’ll come out fired up and playing lights out. They don’t get to a major bowl very often and get a chance to play some big name team.

I also expect whoever plays them to come out less than inspired, a lot like when PSU played Kentucky last year.

At least he doesn’t you know what away 25 point leads at home and has beaten 2 teams ranked higher than 25 fan boy.

If tosu tumbles out of the cfp, PSU will certainly be dumped from a NY6 bowl.

They're not falling out of the CFP. No chance.

Even if they come back to win, they're going to lose the #1 seed, though.

But if they lose......#1 LSU vs. #4 Oklahoma. #2 Clemson vs. #3 Ohio State.

Clemson will knock out the Bucks. It's hard to be "underrated" as 13-0 and #2 in the country, but not enough people appreciate how good Clemson is right now.

That’s what they said last year too

Yep.

Greatness is what it is, regardless of who they're playing. Just watching these guys, they're an elite, championship-caliber team.

Tough to say if they're better than LSU or Ohio State, but they're really, really, really good. This is mostly the same offense that destroyed Alabama last year, and their defense has improved a LOT as the year progressed.

Oh they are good but I feel ACC is even weaker this season. They without a doubt are good but again how good we will all find out in a few weeks.

I agree, Memphis would play tough no doubt. With that said, it is a risky game for PSU in terms of recruiting...

Just want a NY6.

I’m not sure how much that really matters this year. Is there any great benefit that comes out of playing Memphis in the Cotton Bowl on December 28?

First, it’s a no win situation like playing Pitt. Second, all the media coverage will be on the 2 playoff games also played on that day. The Cotton Bowl will only be mentioned in passing.

It would be more interesting to play an SEC school in the Citrus/ Outback on New Years Day IMO.

Yes. Because CJF wants to claim another NY6 Bowl for recruiting. I honestly doubt he cares about NY6 opponent but rather that team gets a NY6.

Exactly. NY6 is sorta like a Sweet 16 in the NCAA tournament. It’s a status thing. It matters. Nobody really cares who you beat or lost to in the NY6 game unless it’s a playoff. Getting there is a success in itself.

Yep, he can claim 3 NY6 in 4 seasons. Can use it to tell recruits that with you we can jump from NY6 to CFP.

There is no way the Rose Bowl is passing up Penn State vs Oregon . Which will probably be a 6 vs 7 matchup at worst. Becomes the best matchup other than the playoffs

Rose Bowl Committee first half - Hell yeah Wisky be a great team to bring

Rose Bowl Committee second half - ummm maybe not.

Be very interesting to see Rose Bowl B1G selection.

From everything I read here...the players have won 10 and the coaches have lost 2.
Yes. As a leader when it is right it is them and when it is wrong it is me. Get paid 5 million bucks better have that mind set and own it.
